We're doing both, but won't make the guy put the garter on the girl. And we're not limiting it to single people because I don't want to put anyone in an awkward situation. We're going to offer prizes to whoever catches the bouquet/garter. As of now we're going to make baskets with wine and liquor as the prize.

Both and our guests had so much fun with it!!!! I'm still laughing at the fact that 2 friends who were married went to catch the bo-q!!!!!!!!!

It really depends on the crowd that you'll have at your wedding!

I am doing it!! I don't care how uncomfortable everyone is...I will be in a huge probably uncomfortable big white dress with shoes that will hurt and I want to watch my friends fight over flowers I am paying a lot for !!!

I'm not sure on this one if we're doing it or not. Sometimes people act like a$$es and I don't want to deal with that, esp on my wedding day. I guess I'll have to talk it over w/ FH and see what he says about it.

Totally agree - but I also agree with Betsy, it depends on your crowd. My single girlfriends are all older (over 33) and single and WANT to be married so I felt like it would be rubbing it in their faces that they're still single. My one bridesmaid told me she felt like it was 'OK, lets see all the women no one thinks are good enough to marry get up...' I felt SO BAD for her the way she said it

One thing I heard another bride do was call ALL THE women, married or not up, THAT sounds better to me, then you're not putting the single women on display.

If you insist on doing it, definitely dont single out the single women!
