Just got home from Engaged Encounter weekend

Whew, I am exhausted! My FH and I just got home from our Engaged Encounter weekend up where we live (near Rochester). It was at a retreat house set on a hill and overlooking one of the Finger Lakes...it was sooo beautiful! Anyway, I thought the weekend was great and definitely worthwhile. It consisted of two married couples who presented their own personal stories about marriage. Some of the topics discussed were Finances, Having Kids, Sexuality, etc. After each 'talk' we were handed a bunch of questions and a notebook...we had to separate from our FH for 20 minutes and write out the answers to the questions, which were not easy and were very 'deep.' Then we had to meet with our fiancee to discuss our answers. We did this numerous times (about 8) throughout the weekend. We also participated in some other group activities. There were about 20 other couples there. We also had to write vows to each other, which turned out to be the best part of the weekend. I was bawling by the time FH finished reading his to me, so I realized that I will probably end up crying at the alter too! :) I realized just how compatible we truly are and it was a nice reassurance. I definitely reccommend going on this weekend, it was a nice escape and really allowed the two of us to focus on each other.

Sounds nice. What are their policies on sleeping arrangement?

We had to sleep in separate rooms, however it was a very relaxed atmosphere and we were, of course, allowed to hang out in each other's rooms. We even took a nap together!
