Re: Not to sound dumb
Don't laugh, but I had no clue either and I was constantly seeing it on weddingchannel, so I finally asked my friend (here at work we're both addicted to this)!!! Us brunettes get those blonde moments also -- and not for nothing, but I think since I've gotten married, I'm becoming an airhead because I'm getting them more and more!!! LOL
And don't even ask me what half of those initials stand for!!!
I can't tell you what I first thought DH stood for!!

Re: Not to sound dumb
Bears, you have yet again made me laugh out loud!!
I sat here saying to myself 'What could DH possibly stand for...', and a second later I laughed so loud that I scared Arnold, who was sleeping next to my chair!
Thank you thank you thank you for your wonderful way with words!
PS ~ for a while I also didn't know what bumping was!

JennRenee, you are so welcome! I aim to please. LOL :) You should hear what my hubby has to say about the stuff I say!!!
He tells me 'I'm killing him' and believe me there are days.....LOL
Just kidding, I love my DH!!! And I thank you for making me smile as well!!!MichelleW, I got your email and YES that's IT!!!! And I kept saying 'why is everyone calling their new husbands that if they're so happy about being married?' -- I had to ask my friend why everyone is calling them that and she cracked up and said it's DEAR HUSBAND!!!! What the heck did I know!

Re: Michelle, I'm on my way out the door
Bearsbabe,Youre HILARIOUS !! LMAO !!!!!! ( ya know what that one means right?) just teasing ! I was just dying laughing over your DH post !! I had to pause for a sec too and then just exploded !!
Wait till you visit the TTC boards (in the next chapter of life
,) and you see 'BD' all over the place) means Body Dance, 'online-politically correct' way to say it, LOLLLLL.

Baby Dance??? Oh my, that's just toooo funny!
I've been reading a bit on the ttc boards lately (pre-research, I call it!) and I see a lot of abbreviations I don't understand. Next time I see one, I'll bring it here for translation!

Re: Michelle, I'm on my way out the door
Oh geez, MORE initials to learn??
I'm going to need a refresher course soon!! LOL
To make you girls laugh even more, I was telling my DH about this site again last night and how I thought DH meant something else (
) and he takes the wooden spoon (yes, he was making ravioli because he gets home first -- I have him trained well, huh?
) and he's holding it up in front of me as a MICROPHONE and saying 'this is Debbie reporting from Washer Woman House' -- now I ask you, is that nice? LOL
He justs laughs and tells me I'm a 'wild woman' and 'out of my mind'!! He also tells me I'm like Lucy! Especially after I locked us out of the house and he had to climb through the kitchen window!! Well, let me tell you how much I laughed when I saw this big chooch (and I say that lovingly -- I don't want to get ripped apart by some 'non-poster' and then have JennRenee coming to my resuce!
) trying to climb through the kitchen window!! He didn't think it was too funny until later!!!!Anyway it's Friday and I'm in this babbling brook mode and I have work to do, so I'll chat w/you chicks later!!!
Michelle, I'll email you later!
Anna, I think we 'spoke' before -- you're from Astoria, right? Over by the old Astoria General (or whatever the heck it's called now), right? I'm from Astoria, but actually 'upper Ditmars'. Do you miss it?
Oh! I'm still babbling -- I wish I could meet you girls, but there's no way I would make it out to Hungtington since I work in Manhattan and live in Queens and then I'd have to drive out there and we know the traffic!!! Maybe next time I'm out at my cousin's (they live all over out there -- Stony Brook, Coram, E. Setauket, etc) I'll bump into you guys!! LOL

Re: Michelle, I'm on my way out the door
BAHAHAHAH!!!! I'm picturing your DH (note the initials!
) climbing in the window... priceless!
As for being a Washer Woman, well, wash all you want because we all love your sense of humor!
Next time you're in Suffolk, let us know because I have a feeling that a get together with Debbie, aka Bears, would be a very good time!
Wish you could make it on Tuesday though....
but I understand.

Re: Deb where in NY are you
Hey Manhattan girls, dont leave us out !! and dont make a pregnant woman depressed that her CITY GIRL days are over !! I miss the city !!
yep, debbie, astoria, I miss my friends there, I go visit my parents about twice a month, and my sis is in Middle Village. Let us know when you are out here on LI.
Washerwoman, that was funny!! (and yes you have him trained well ! can you give me some tips, my DH (And thats not Dear Husband...just kidding) needs to be told and asked and hinted to do things.......well ok, hes not that bad...........
Husbands, what are we gonna do with them...
A funny thing is seeing my husband when i talk to my mother in Italian on the phone, he tries to imitate the words i say and he sounds hilarious. ITs his own made up language thats an attempt at Italian. He can tell by the tone (loud, dramatic)
that i'm just gossiping for an hour, and he tries to imitate me. LOL poor guy, not understanding a word I say, and I could be talking about him the whole time !! The joys of being bilingual ! Once he goes, 'hey i thought SHTUPIDO meant 'john' in italian all these years, thats all your mother says when she sees me' i couldnt stop laughing, my wannabee comedian....
OK, did i go off on a tangent ??? woops.........

Anna we would never leave anyone out
It's just very hard for me to get to LI
. I work in Mahattan and live in Westchester. It is very ironic about the teacher postings because I have been contemplating that myself as wellIt has been almost 2 years that I have been 'talking' to everyone and it would be so nice to meet everyone. Maybe if we move to Suffolk our kids can play together and have Jenn as their kindergarten teacher, hmm unless she is at home with her own babies

Let me tell you what a small world this is....
I have just found out that MichelleW and I WORK IN THE SAME BUILDING FOR THE SAME COMPANY!!!!
She left me a voicemail telling me and if she wasn't already gone (unlike my dept, she has summer hours), I'd run downstairs and finally meet her!! I have to wait until Monday!!
ISN'T THIS AMAZING!!! I can't wait!! I'll fill you all in on Monday!
Anna, you crack me up! Whenever I curse or say something in my very bad Calabrese dialect, my hubby either makes fun of me or says 'you don't know what you're saying' -- meanwhile he's clueless to anything other then 'capisce'!! LOL

JennRenee, I forgot to ask you -- how was your anniversary last weekend!!! Did you say something about going to Atlantic City? (See what I mean about the airhead thing, I can't remember anything anymore!
) I hope you had a wonderful time whatever you did!!!
Have a GREAT weekend!!

Re: Let me tell you what a small world this is....
First of all... I absolutely can't believe that Debbie and Michelle work in the same building for the same company!
How FUNNY is that??
I can't wait to hear all about it when you finally meet on Monday!!Second, Michelle and Debbie, you BOTH need to move your butts out to Suffolk county because I would LOVE to be your kids' teacher! Instead of sending a note home asking for help with a project, I could post on LI Weddings 'Hey girls, we are papier mache-ing today... give me a hand!'
Last, my anniversary was wonderful, thank you! Pat and I went into the city and saw The Producers and had dinner. It was such a great day!
I love being married!!!We had wanted to go away for a long anniversary weekend, but decided to use that money to buy a fence, because every time you take your eye off of Arnie for a second he's half way to Canada.

Re: Let me tell you what a small world this is....
JennRenee Im sure you'll be my kids teacher somewhere along the line (even if you have another grade by those years!)
So do they call you 'Miss Jenn' or by your last name?. ONe of my friends kids was referring to his kindergarten (or maybe pre-k) teacher by her first name, i was told thats what they do for the younger ones. HOW CUTEEE !!
God I cant wait to teach. i'm such a kid-fanatic.

Re: Let me tell you what a small world this is....
I would love to have my kids call me by my first name, but it's not considered respectful enough.
So, they call me by my last name. Luckily for the children I switched from a long hard to pronounce Italian last name to a very easy and common Irish one!
Anna, do you know which elementary school your kids will go to?
