No, I dont know what elementary im zoned for. My closests cross St. are Siracusa Blvd and Cornell Dr(the next right after CVS on Jericho going west).

I cant wait to be involved in the school system, as a parent and teacher :) The schools are so great out here.

So do they also encourage teachers to dress 'professional' I've heard that also. How professsional can you dress, when youre with kids all day ? LOL

Anna, do you mean the CVS on Jericho behind the Millenium Diner?

Yes, we need to dress professionally.

That's the only bad thing about teaching. I ruin a lot of clothes with paint, and its hard to SIT ON THE FLOOR.

Nope, CVS on Jericho towards Commack. On the way to the Spare Rib restaurant if youre coming from Smithtown/St. James.

WOW, professional dress. I guess thats good in a way. As they do say, 'ya gotta look the part'. One my old bosses who is now a friend, her DH is a High School History teacher, and one of the first things she said to him was 'wear a tie every day, so those kids take you seriously'. I guess depending on the kids, it does help to make them take you more seriously. I think i'd blend right in with the students if i didnt dress professional, LOL. Im about the same height as some of those 5th graders!

We have a second grade teacher at my school who has had students who are taller than she is! She is well under 5 feet, and it seems like they grow 'em tall in Commack.
