PLEASE READ:Fox Hollow Garden Room Available!!!

Hi there, I haven't been much of a post-er, but have been reading everthing here since the OLD boards, from 2 years ago! My post today is to pass the word around that my wedding is off ( he started having doubts and acting shady, so after a few weeks of everything being up in the air, I cancelled it and broke off 11 years.) Since my parents already put down $6,000 on my Winter Garden Pavillion reception (you know, the gorgeous one with the waterfall and glass ceiling!), the only chance they have at recouping some of the money (my ex is giving them some money towards it, but who knows how long THAT will last!) is if they re-book it. SO, if anyone is planning on getting married in October and doesn't have a room yet (I'm hoping there are some people trying to throw together something quick!) the Winter Garden Pavillion is open now for SUNDAY OCTOBER 13, 2002 (the day before Columbus Day) for a 12:30 ceremony in the outside garden with waterfall and 'stream', coctail hour in the restaurant, and reception in 'my' gorgeous room (I LOVE that room :( ) I don't mean to sound like a commercial or abything, but I'm fairly desperate. There are also rooms available that weekend (including the bridal suite) and the hotel they built next door, b/c we had some reserved for us and our family. Please pass the info along to anyone you know planning a wedding, shower, anniversary party, whatever. Just know there's a 110 person minimum, and (i think) a cap of about 150. (We were planning on 120, with plenty of room to move around and dance!!)

I'd also like to take a minute to thank everyone for these past two years, I learned a lot about planning this wedding, b/c I was so clueless!!!

I wish all of you luck and happiness!!

Thanks for your time,
Karen Nemeth

Re: PLEASE READ:Fox Hollow Garden Room Available!!!

Karen,
I'm not looking for a place since I already have mine booked, but I just wanted to say how sorry I was to hear of your misfortune, that's so very sad! And even though I'm sure it hurts right now, and no matter what anyone says right now that hurt will take some time to go away, but I promise you this much, the hurt WILL eventually go away and you will be happy again. If this guy wasn't meant to be, you will find your perfect guy. I was in the same situation a few years back (although we hadn't booked a place), but I got over him and I found my Mr. Right, as will you!! Keep the faith because it will happen & you'll be happier than you could ever imagine, my thoughts are with you!

Re: PLEASE READ:Fox Hollow Garden Room Available!!!

Thanks so much for the kind words, It's been a few weeks now, and it was really hard, but I'm getting through it. ('I will survive!')

Gotta run, but thanks again!

-Karen, who edited this pic of us from a fewyears ago, just for fun, and to relieve a little stress :)

(Took it off, b/c it was a little juvenile. Just like him!)

So sorry to hear your wedding is off! But as crappy as this may sound, better this than divorce. I am sure you will find someone else and be happier than you ever were in your life.

Re: PLEASE READ:Fox Hollow Garden Room Available!!!

Karen,
I called off my '1st wedding' in 1996 about 8 weeks before, it was one of the smartest things I ever did. My parents never got any of the money back, but they got over it. They were just happy I didn't marry that jerk!!!!!!!!!
I think you should post this on the knot local boards, UW & WC-the hall might be looking to make a deal now since it's so close. Good luck to you!

Re: PLEASE READ:Fox Hollow Garden Room Available!!!

Thanks, I hadn't even thought of the Knot... I'll go now. And you're right, the Fox Hollow is willing to deal, and give the room for less peopl, or less money pp. Thanks everyone for all your kind words!
-Karen
