fall bride locations
Hi girls, I am newly engaged. I have read so many of your topics and posts- you all give great info!!I was wondering if anyone was quoted prices for an Oct/Nov wedding- a Friday or Saturday evening for the following places:
Bourne Mansion
Carlyle on the Green
Carltun on the Sound
Lombardis on the Sound
The Venetian Yacht Club
San Souci
Atlantica
My fiance and I would love our reception on the water, but don't want to get married at the same place as any of our friends, so we are limited to our 'on the water' locations. THanks for any input you can give.

Re: new to this...
welcome!I'd edit the title of the thread to 'fall reception locations?' so more fall brides click on it
how many guests, and what's your budget per person, if you don't mind sharing?

Also, you can check on the main page of LIWeddings, I think there is a reception guide/location guide. There might be some helpful info there....HTH! Welcome and congrats to you!!!

I am not 100% sure but from what I've seen others say on here I think the VYC is more than that. I have a magazine with most RH's in NY and they have the prices pp, but it is not always exactly what it is and can differ...I'll look up the others and see what they say to give you a general idea

Re: fall bride locations
They have it for carlyle on the green and it says $100-250 pp...It all depends on what you want for your wedding, peak season, day of the week and whether it is afternoon or evening...I would say $100 is probably for off peak season...and once you go for a saturday evening during peak season the price is close to the higher range obviously lol.Sans soucci says :varies which isn't helpful, but i remember someone saying it is not that expensive, actually right in the price range you are looking for...But that also depends on how big your wedding will be, because it will not hold large weddings.

Just keep in mind that many of the prices they have listed or even when you call a RH just to find out prices, it can be very different than what you will actually pay...also in the magazines it gives you the price pp without tax or gratuity, just keep that in mind.

Re: fall bride locations
When I was looking I checked out the Carlyle and Lombardis on the Sound. For an October Friday night at LOS it was $125 a person. For November 11, 2007 (Sunday night) at Carlyle they wanted $195/head.

Re: fall bride locations
for the base prices per person, you usually have to add a 20% service fee, tax, and then tip....together you can expect to add an extra 50% on top of the base..... So, you really need to find places $80-100/pp and below to keep to your budget... It would be easier to do that with a Sat afternoon reception, rather than an evening reception....
Maybe Lombardi's on the sound? I vaguely recall other brides posting that their fees in the fall and winter sometimes approaches that... Maybe someone else can confirm that?

FYI, when I looked at VYC they quoted me 125 for a sat nite in oct 2008 so its well within your budget and I also looked at Sans Souci and its too small for a party of 180-200. HTH - Good luck!

Re: fall bride locations
Congrats and welcome! The Bourne Mansion has a site fee, and that Carlyle on the Green tends to be pretty pricey... Unfortunately I don't know much else about the venues you're unterested in, but just keep in mind that Saturday nights will be considerably more expensive - even in November.
Lots of luck and happy planning!

Re: fall bride locations
we are having our reception at Lombardi's on the Sound we got pricing for Fall 07 in Fall 05.....so I don't know if their prices have changed but we are paying $109 for a Friday night and I think a Saturday was $149. We went for the Friday--it worked out to be a $12,000 price difference for a Saturday--it wasn't worth it to get the same exact features of the hall. We loved it there. there tax & gratuity is 18%

I'm getting married Oct. '08 at Fox Hollow. It's there peak season there but I still thought the prices were reasonable. I loved the room we are going to be in. FM me with questions.
