Dumb question (envelopes)

Are you supposed to seal your inner envelopes. Mine are not sealed but have glue, I have received invites recently that one was sealed and one was not. What is the proper way to send? Thanks

Re: Dumb question (envelopes)

I don't know if there is a cut-and-dry 'supposed to' answer to this question. I don't think it's mandatory.

All I can tell you is that I did not seal the inner envelopes to my wedding invitations.

Re: Dumb question (envelopes)

I received 2 wedding invitations this year and neither one had the inner envelope sealed. I also didn't seal ours.

Re: Dumb question (envelopes)

I would say no. Our envelopes did not even have gummy stuff to seal it.

Re: Dumb question (envelopes)

I didn't seal mine. I don't think you're supposed to because usually the inner envelope has that pearlized look and you want people to notice that and not just rip the thing open or use one of those envelope slitters and not even see the inside flap of the envelope.... Did that make sense??

Re: Dumb question (envelopes)

Actually - the inner envelope shouldn't even have any glue on it to be sealed. I used regular envelopes (not ones specifically made to be inners) so there was glue but I didn't seal them.

Re: Dumb question (envelopes)

We did not seal our inner envelopes. They did not have glue on them either, we used decorative seals to close them.
