NWR: people with cats question

So I have a diabetic cat, just started giving insulin yesterday, was on a pill for a year.... Anyhoo she's been puking for like 3 days straight, someone at work suggested a 1/4 of a pepcid AC to calm her stomach acid...

Has anyone else heard of this, or actually done this? Read a little online but still scared... there's puke everywhere getting tired of following her around with papertowels.... most importantly feel bad for her

Aww... I'm so sorry for your kitty!!! I would call a vet asap. I freak out when anything happens to either one of my cats. You should call North Shore or even any emergency clinic. I wouldn't give anything before you know for sure.

Re: NWR: people with cats question

no no no!!!! my cat patrick is also a diabetic hes been on insulin shots for a year now! and the vet told us that when he pukes its a sign that his sugar is off.. either too low or too high.. usually they have to play with the dosage of the insulin till its right... patricks changes all the time.. but we know when its off cuz he will start to puke... but they have never recommended any pepcid... to my knowledge you CAN NOT give a cat any human durgs like you can for a dog! DEF call the VET!

good luck your kitty will be ok!

Re: NWR: people with cats question

Don't give kitty PEPCID, you really should call the vet. My mom's kitty was diabetic and puked while the insulin was being regulated.....

Hope kitty feels better
