Got a few things today (one being our invites!) w/ pics..

We got our invites in today!!
I hate that I cant seem to get a good clear pic of them and the accurate color. Its a really pretty light blue. We really like them.



Also got in the 'family medallion' to present to fh's son during our ceremony...actually going to incorp a family mediallon ceremony into our ceremony to signify our commitment to him and to celebrate the three of becoming a family. We'll also get him a toy he'll enjoy too, since this will be like a kid getting clothes for xmas, ya know. But I think he'll appreciate the keepsake when he's older.



And we picked up a brown chest we found at Michaels that is covered in butterflies (which are special to me, if you havent read in previous posts of mine, they have come to represent the memory of my father who is passed) and we're going to cut the envelope hole in the top of it for our card box. Kinda wanted it to look like a treasure chest since our theme is beachy. Think it will work, just hope its big enough!!

did you ever think about just keeping the chest open and having guests place the cards in? my friend did that with a chest that reminds me of yours and it was really cute and different to just have the chest open. here's a pic i took of our bouquets, but you can see it in the background:

ya know, as we were walking out of michaels talking about having to cut a hole, fh suggested leaving it open. i wasnt sure everyone would know what to do? is that dumb to assume? haha

i like the idea and saves us a pain in the butt trying to make the envelope slit!

Thats a good idea, to leave it open, its so pretty i wouldnt want to cut a hole in it.

Maybe once you get a couple of cards you can put them in there, I think people will get the hint

the staff should also be around to point people in the right direction, in case they have any questions. my friend had no troubles and now she can reuse the chest she picked out and so will you!

Wow... I love everything! And the necklace is really cute! Such a great idea! And the card box is very unique! Can't wait to see pix of your wedding!!!!

you could also print something like card box or a little poem and tape it to the inside of the cover

Also think the chest is beautiful! I'm sure you can just leave it open and people will get the hint. It would be a shame to cut a hole in it.
