Who are you meeting with? Since your reception is in Bklyn, you should ask if there is a traveling fee to go to Bklyn. What is included in each package (edited video, unedited video, etc.)? How long will they be with you? I got a list of questions to ask the videographer from my videographer. Let me get it and I will post it for you.

Here is the list that my videographer gave me. It is a list of questions that you should ask a videographer.

Do they use broadcast cameras or consumer camcorders?

Are they completely portable?

Do they use wireless microphones for your ceremony?

Are they strictly a video production company or do they specialize in something else while offering video?

Who will you be seeing during your demonstration and contracting?

Who is shooting the affair (ie. hired labor, subcontracted crew, etc.)?

Who is editing your affair (the post-production)?

Who presents you with your finished product?

Is their equipment available for you to view at demonstration (ie. cameras, wireless mic's editing system, etc.)?

Are they a fully insured company?

Does the video company have to leave my affair and go to another affair?

you should also find out if they're using digital cameras, what wattage light they use, if they use tri-pods on the dance floor - You want them to be as un-obstrusive as possible.

And if you want certain things like table shots and interviews, ask if they do those or if there's additional fees.

See if you can see a full tape rather than just a demo. If these do any 8mm or black & white filming (its adds so much style to the video).

Really you just need to find a videographer that fits your style. Some we visited were totally not us - animation flashing on the screen, baby pictures, strange music, etc. Once we met with Platinum, we found exactly what we wanted.

I agree with all of the above. On a side note you should also ask to see the package that your video will come in. For Example, Bellarino gives clear plastic cases for your VHS and DVD's, my videographer has custom made labels that are sooo cute. It's not important but a good question.

Well, I'm using Advanced Multimedia.. he's a friend of the family.. he did fh's mom's video last year (her second wedding) and being that she wanted soemthing not as traditional, being her second wedding, I want to go see his work and didn't know what to ask.. The guy is great but I just want to be prepared and if there are any extras, other than 3 total videos or dvd's or whatever.. like the video montage and all that good stuff..
