guaranteed number of guests
when i booked jericho terrace for my wedding, i had guaranteed for 200 people, although we expected more...according to the replies we've received so far, we probably won't even make it to 200...i don't mind that because the room is kind of small, but will they still make me pay for 200 even though i have 180 or 190??

Re: guaranteed number of guests
Did they make you guarantee a certain number? Because if they did, then you normally have to pay for that amount even if you don't have that many coming. It stinks but a lot of places do this I think.

Re: guaranteed number of guests
Check your contract - we had to guarantee a $$ amount, but not the # of people. For example, we guaranteed 150 people at say $100 a head for a total of $15,000. If we fall under the 150 people, we can use the leftover money for any add-ons - extra carving station, ice sculpture, etc. As long as the hall gets their money, I don't know they mind if its meals or add-ons.
Good Luck!!

Re: guaranteed number of guests
If the contract states a guaranteed minimum and you fall short with the guests, you'll have to pay what you signed for.

Re: guaranteed number of guests
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you will DEFINATELY have to pay for those people My cousin's friend is getting married there this wkend and guarnteed 250 and only ended up w/180!!! It really ***** when you over estimate by 70!!!! that's like $7,000!!! So, unfortunately you will...... Word to the wise, always say less than expected, you won't get penalized for adding people, but you will for not having enough! It's not the halls fault, if you sign a contract, they expect a certain amount of $$$. What can you do??

Re: guaranteed number of guests
If you fall short on head count by more than a few heads ask then to add some extras to the cocktail hour or upgrades to your menu. If you are short by a few people ask them to pack the dinners up for you. You can always give them to family/friends if you are leaving on you HM right away.

Re: guaranteed number of guests
I think that is the minimal dinners that you have to pay for. Is there anyone else that wouldnt mind being asked last minute?

Re: guaranteed number of guests
Unfortunatly, they will most likely charge you for 200 even if you have less I'd look into my B list if I were you, maybe you can make up some of those empty spaces

Re: guaranteed number of guests
Also, think about making sure all of your vendors are fed...if you are going to have to pay you might as well give it to them..I am sure they would greatly appreciate it...plus with that then you won't go over your price...this only works if you are like 10 short...if you feed them I believe you can save a little on the tip...I could be wrong though.
