Okay ladies, I am meeting with the band tonight and we still can decide on our first dance Please post which song you would choose.

Isn't the Don Henley song about taking his newborn baby home from the hospital?

I love both songs!! We're using 'I Could Not Ask for More' as they show our baby pics and engagement pics at the reception before we're introduced. 'Take You Home' both my cousin and FI's friend used so I don't want to use it.

I could not ask for more - that's our song too!

My cousin had the same problem and her FH (now DH) said 'close your eyes and picture your wedding. We've just been introduced and we step to the middle of the dance floor...What song do you picture us dancing to?'

Seemed to work for them...

I vote for Taking You Home. But I love Don Henley and the words are very apropos for me and FH. I get choked up everytime I hear that song. But we are not using it ourselves b/c FH does not like it.

Hi Valenia! I read somewhere that 'Taking You Home' was about Don Henley meeting and marrying his second (or susbequent) wife. He had resigned himself to being alone after his first marriage (or second or whatever) and then he met her. ('I had a good life...before you came...')
She was much younger than he was and apparently totally changed his life. They have a little baby now. He also has adult children from his first marriage(s).

I had heard that 'Taking You Home' was about Don Henley taking home his baby from the hospital. I remember bawling when they played that song on ER and Juliana Margulies was bringing her twins to where George Clooney was living!
