HI girls 07'er crashing....

Hello ladies!

What is the etiquette for sending out thank yous? I was told to send them out within a year, but i was thinking like 6 months-- and now I just read within 2?

Technically you have up to a year but most brides like to get them out within 6 months. I sent ours out on our 5-month anniversary.

Re: HI girls 07'er crashing....

Technically, they say you have a year. I hate not getting a thank you within 6 months because I begin to wonder if people got the envelope, or if the wrong person cashed the check, or if the gift got to the person. We wrote ours out while waiting for the pictures to arrive. We picked our picture quickly and had the thank you notes out within 6 weeks of our wedding. I'm just anal that way. If the picture is actually part of the card, then it would obviously take longer.

Re: HI girls 07'er crashing....

You have up to a year to send them out to your guests. I would say average - most couples mail their's out within 4-6 months after their wedding.

Re: HI girls 07'er crashing....

technically you have a year, but we sent ours out within 3 months of marriage. I personally hate when I get wedding thank you's like 9 months-12 months after. I think its better to aim for 6 mos.

Re: HI girls 07'er crashing....

You should try to get them out as soon as you can -- i got my thank you pics within a month so i was able to get them out early...plus it was still really fresh in mind and i was able to personalize the cards better

Re: HI girls 07'er crashing....

Mine went out at 4 months. You supposedly have up to a year. But think about when you attend a wedding, how long after do you start that you haven't received a thank you yet?

Re: HI girls 07'er crashing....

Less than 6 months is the right thing to do, but if you send them in under a yea thats fine as well. I think anything over a year is a little rude.

Same here and I felt bad, like they were so late or something.

Re: HI girls 07'er crashing....

I did it within 6 months but had hoped to take less time. I think a lot of it depends on your TYs..if you're using ones from your photographer it can sometimes take 4 months or whatever to even get your pictures back and TYs made up.
