NWR I feel so old *Updated*

It's a friday night which means my block is 'jumpin'
all the highschool kids hang out on the grass in front of the pizza place and blast their music and chill and what not.
usually i'm totally cool with it.
but tonight they are all fighting. i mean literally fighting and beating the cr*p out of eachother. the girls are all screaming and the guys are cursing their brains out.
i just slammed all the windows shut so i dont have to hear them and i actually heard myself mutter the words...
'd a m n teenagers'
WHAT!?!?!
that was me a few years ago... all agitated on a hott summer night chillin with friends on the corner get all up in arms b/c so and so called someone a name...

what makes it even worse is last week i actually had to call the cops b/c a group of skateboarders were on the ROOF of the building across the street. that alone would have been fine except they were skating off it into the middle of the street that the highschoolers drag race down!!

i cried when i got off the phone with the cops. i felt soo old and i felt like i was betraying my ubercool 'punk' roots.
i had become 'THE MAN' that i had so loudly 'd a m n e d' for the past 10 years.

what's happening to me???

UPDATE:
The cops got called, not by me. They cleared the area. FH said when he drove by on his way home they were smoking pot right in the open and drinking 40's on the corner.
Me thinks it's gonna be a looooong first summer living in this apartment.

Ahhh to be 16 again.... I understand where you are coming from. But then again, there were people who were in your situation when you were that age LOOKING out for your saftey, Yea we are getting 'old' but there are alot of things to look forward to with that.

yea i hafta keep reminding myself of that. It's not the noise that really bothers me, it's the screeching tires that was scaring me. These kids are gonna get themselves killed. and i want to try and prevent that.

I was in some stupid situations when i was younger, and annonymous calls to the cops always saved the day whether we wanted to admit it or not. it sent us home and left us alive to bother the world another day.

i lost a few friends to stupid teenage sh*t and i guess i never realized how prevantable so much of it was... now that i'm older and wiser i just worry for these kids...

but part of me totally wanted to hang out on the roof with the skateboarders. and i totally watched and crossed my fingers and rooted 'skateboard steve' (we nicknamed him lol) on while he jumped.

'courtney' (skateboard steve's love intrest)
oh boy the list goes on and on

the worst part is... we had those names for hypothetical people before we could actually apply them to specific teenagers but now we know exactly who we're talking about! fh's best friend is in on it too
i lead a sad life

someone other than me was looking out for them as well, the cops just busted up the place.

Yeah, i've had a couple of those moments myself...particularly when i'm on the 2 train at around 3pm and all of the highschool kids get on and start acting rowdy

Im going to be 27 on July 26, I feel like my life has literally passed me by, To me that is sooo old, and the days keep on flying by!

OMG!
I went to yell at them to get off my fence but then realized it really doesnt bother me and it was just my inner old lady talking. i chose not to yell at them and now i'm sooo glad i made that decision!!
