Wedding Dress Question

Good morning ladies! Silly question: I ordered my gown back in Oct. 06 for my Nov. 07 wedding...approximately when do you think I should be getting the first call that it's in & that I should go try it on? I'd call & ask my dress shop, but they're ALWAYS really rude & lie to me all the time (that's WHOLE OTHER post), so I wouldn't believe their answer even if they told me TIA!

I can only say what the people who i had ordered from told me. I ordered June 2nd for my march 08 wedding and I am getting a custom jacket made so she told me it would take a little longer to get in so she said figure late Oct. early Nov. This is for a casablanca gown.

4-5 months to get in and she said bm should be about 3-4 months unless there was a rush if I didn't order them right away.

I only heard a few that took longer then 6 months tops because they went to a designer that kind makes the dress fit on you or added extra custom work.

I think it depends on where you got your dress and who the designer is. I ordered mine in January07 for my October07 wedding and it was in in March07. I got mine from David's Bridal though. I would definitely call your salon to find out because I think that it should be coming in any day if it isn't already here!!!!!

Call your salon to find out the progress of the dress.
It all depends upon the designer, how long it typically takes the dress to get in.

I ordered mine on Feb 24th, the dress is in as of June 11th for my October 27th wedding.

Thanks ladies - I'll give them a try today & I'll let you know how it goes. Hopefully they'll step up & tell me the truth for a change...

One more quick question, if you don't mind...When it's in, do you typically go in to try it on once (prior to the beggining of alterations) just to see how close it is to fitting you or do they make you wait? I'm a little concerned that it may be way too small, so I'm wondering if they'll let me come in just to try it on if that's typical...

Be honest with the salon, that you want to try it on before your first fitting.

Your first fitting will be about 8 weeks before your wedding.

Thanks so much ladies! Dealing with them tends to give me agita, so I usually just try to avoid it, but you gave me the courage.

So I just called and after checking the girl is like 'Oh yeah - I see it just came in yesterday.' Ok - that's an AWFUL big coincidence if you ask me, but whatever lol I'm going to try & get in there sometime next week to see...seeing is believing! She said that trying it on shouldn't be a problem, so I guess we'll see!
