Re: ***POLL**** Bridal Party Question
It depends. Why is she not making it? Is it b/c she has to take her mom to the hospital for heart surgery that day? Because she booked a trip 2 years ago and cannot cancel without $1000 penalty? Was her dog hit by a car? REASON IS IMPORTANT.

Re: ***POLL**** Bridal Party Question
Well "she" is me...I'm in my friend's BP this August...her BP is the end of July. She wants to go to her house for drinks, rent a limo, go to the city, go to a club and then maybe somewhere after. I'm not into drinking or clubbing anymore. Renting a limo and going to a club is going to be expensive. Drinks are pricey too. FH and I are renovating two bathrooms in our house right now and are up to the part where we have to make the major purchases (toilets, sinks, tubs).....little did I know that these things are sooooo much money! Who knew the place you pooped would be so pricey! Helppppp : (

I have a feeling the "I dont drink anymore and its too expensive" reason isnt going to fly and a blowout will ensue!! Be wary!

Re: ***POLL**** Bridal Party Question
hmm i am not going to some bach parties that are away for financial reasons BUT if it was something close and i still couldn't afford it i would definitely try to make it to PART of the night. . . like hang out for a few hours then get picked up
honestly, something like that i would just suck it up i think i feel HORRIBLE as it is not going to any away parties but i know that i cant afford it and its out of the question so that is different!

I'll be very honest with you, i don't know how i would feel about that excuse. If i went away somewhere and they couldn't make it then that is completely understandable...but if i had a close friend who couldn't make it to the BP party i would be annoyed and even though you might be over that its nice once in a blue moon to get away with friends and dont think of it as clubbing and drinking like you did when you were younger but just celebrating with your friends. clubs are expensive now but you can always pre-game...for me clubs are not expensive bc ill go all night and wont have even a drink and im fine.
Plus for bachelorette parties you can always get in for free or half price...limo might not be bad if alot of girls are going and it might come out to little per person. So definitely give this some thought before you tell her

Don't get me wrong, I'd go out and drink and dance and have a blast! I feel so guilty thinking about spending that money at a club, when FH is working his butt off to earn it for our house....I wish she didn't choose a club I guess....I notice with other friends too, that Bachelorette parties are never something they look forward to anymore.

Oh defintely...I haven't even hinted to her yet that I don't want to go. I guess I should've added that one of her BM's just had a baby a month ago...I don't know if she's going to go...another BM is due ANY DAY NOW!!! And the BP is in three weeks! I can't see her going. Another BM of hers is a new MOM and isn't really a go out person..she is a more stay home at mom and bake cookies lol That leaves two other girls only and me.....I feel as if it's silly for only three of us to go when there is a bunch of ladies at home.

Id be extremely disappointed, but i wouldnt let it ruin my Bparty. For me I would have set the money aside if I knew things would be tight, but im sure your friend will understand.

Honestly, that excuse is kinda lame... if it's because of the money which I totally understand than maybe you can just meet at her house for drinks. It's not about what you like to do or what you do or don't do anymore it's about celebrating your friends wedding... I would pick one of the things planned and go... maybe you can do drinks at her house, and dinner in the city and then call it a night. I thik you need to think it over.

ask where they plan on going and get on the guest lists, there are also bachelorette parties specials where you get in for half price and you get drink tickets...Plus since youre all taking a limo then buy bottles, all put in money then it will come out to very little, grey goose for example is $30-40 in the store, and just pregame in the limo. Trust me clubs dont have to be expensive. I have spent like $30-40 and sometimes even less lol

I know...I guess I really should've asked this poll question different. I know it's not MY BP so I have no say in where we are going/doing...I"m cool with that. If my friend wants to go to the city and go clubbing, then that's fine....I mentioned I'm not into that anymore but I'd deal. I guess I should've started with the fact that half the BP has/is having kids by then and I can't see them going to a BP. Would you guys go if you just had a kid? I guess I was confused as to why she wanted to do a club based on the scenarios of each of the girls.

I don't know, i guess she just thought about what she wanted to do. Maybe for the girls who can't make it they can do a dinner for her another time or a day at a spa.

Re: ***POLL**** Bridal Party Question
it definitely depends on why she couldnt be there. if it's b/c of money, i'd tell her to shush b/c i'll pay, if it's b/c she doesnt drink and we're going bar hopping then i'd understand it just depends you know?

Re: ***POLL**** Bridal Party Question
My friends and I were in a similar situation a few yrs. back. My friend had her bachelorette party at a strip club. Most of my friends were engaged (or in relationships) and didn't feel comfortable going to a strip club and getting lap dances. BUT, b/c she was (is) our friend, we went for her. The reason is def. important!

Re: ***POLL**** Bridal Party Question
I work at a club where a lot of bachelorette parties come in on the weekends. First of all, theres no cover at my club and its a very known club in the meatpacking district. Even better, most bachelorette parties get a free round of champagne the minute you walk in. Of course if youre going to want a table, you would have to buy a bottle of liquor where prices usually start at 275 and up depending on what kind of liquor. But if you think about it this way, drinks are between 12-15 dollars each. Your bill for drinks is going to end up being more than 300 if a lot of people are going. With a bottle on your table you can control how much you drink and you save money, plus you get the convenience of having somewhere to sit in a packed club. I had a bachelorette party come in where they bought a bottle of champagne (those range from 190 and up) and had a great time! Dont worry and try to make it! Hope this helped a little
