Cancelled wedding - what to do with wedding gown?

Ladies, it has been a rough couple of weeks for my sister. She cancelled her wedding less then a week before. I am trying to help her with the details of getting her life back together and moving on. She would like to see her wedding gown, any suggestions?

We thought of ebay, and will probably end up there, but looking for other options as well.

This is the dress, in case anyone is interested. Size 8, although it was taken in a bit at the bust and shortened some. We also have a matching swajorski crystal veil.

What about an upscale consignment store?

You could advertise it on here

Re: Cancelled wedding - what to do with wedding gown?

I am sorry to hear your sister had to cancel her wedding, but these things tend to be for the best.

As for the gown / veil, you could also try listing them on Craig's List.

Re: Cancelled wedding - what to do with wedding gown?

i am so so SO sorry to hear about your sister....but like the above poster wrote, these things usually happen for ample reason and are for the better...even if it seems heartbreaking now. the gown is absolutely gorgous, so i'm sure this site, along with ebay and the preowned wedding gown website are all great. i'd also try an upscale consignment store...try calling ones in manhattan & queens. i wish her all the best and will keep her in my prayers!

Re: Cancelled wedding - what to do with wedding gown?

So sorry for your sis...

I'm trying to help a friend sell her unworn gown as well, she tried Craigslist and got a lot of bogus offers - they wanted her to ship to south america, payment by bank check from a foreign bank, etc... and I keep bumping it on LIW....

She may have good luck on ebay!!!!!

I may be interested in the veil - how long is it?

Re: Cancelled wedding - what to do with wedding gown?

Thank you ladies so much! I appreciate your kind words and I know you are all right. She is much better off in the long run.

As for the veil, it is finger tip length trimmed with swarovski crystals, obviously it is new and never been worn.

Is the veil ivory or white? DO you have a photo of it?

It is 'diamond white'. I don't have a photo, but will try and get one this weekend.

Re: Cancelled wedding - what to do with wedding gown?

i'd suggest using ebay but instead of auction use fixed price. st her lowest price she's willing to sell it at and then when someone makes an offer counter with a $50 increase.. i had mine listed on ebay for WEEKS>.. and got nothing.. craigslist.. NOTHING... put that sucker on ebay fixed price and in one day i had two offers.. brought it for 1750, sold it for 1200.. plus shipping..

Good luck to her!!
