Wedding Dress Sadness UPDATE
I got a call from Bridal Reflections in Carle Place today. My dress is in, unfortunatly it is not what I ordered
I ordered a white dress with gold threading but the dress that came in was a white dress with silver threading
The woman at the shop told me she called the maker of my gown (Pronovias) and my dress is not made in white with gold threading. She than went on to tell me that I have two choices....to wear the white with silver or to find a new gown. I am heartbroken, I LOVE my dress!
The white with the gold threading is where I came up with the idea to have white and gold throughout the whole wedding. So I am leaving work today to go try and fall in love with a new dress. How sad and fustrating

Re: Wedding Dress Sadness
I tried on a dress with white and silver threading. I asked the saleswoman if I could have gold instead and she said 'yes, that is not a problem' I have a reciept/contract that says white and gold but Pronovias doesn't make it. I just don't know what else to do but find a new one. I know I could wear the white and silver but I do not want to for three reasons.1. My theme is white and gold and yes I know it is a small detail but I am all about the small details
2. (This one is childish) My sister was married in June of this year and her colors where silver and white.
3. I have spent soooo much money on ordering other things that are white and gold.

Re: Wedding Dress Sadness
What doesn't make sense is that Bridal Reflections should have been notifired a looong time ago, way before your gown came in, that the gown couldn't be made that way. That is probably Pronovias' fault. Gosh bridal gown manufacturers **** me off.I'm so sorry you have to go through this.
Good luck with your search, I hope everything works out for you.

Re: Wedding Dress Sadness
Ok..now I understand. Why did the salon order the dress with the silver threading if that is not what you wanted? That is just terrible. Maybe contact your designer directly and see what they say. Perhaps they can change it?My dress had gold and silver detailing and I think it looked really pretty..maybe they can add the gold to the silver?
If not, dont worry - there are lots of dresses with gold detailing.

Re: Wedding Dress Sadness
I don't know..they are morons maybe? It just really STINKS! I don't know why it cant just have gold threading...its not that hard to get. I know that the salon ordered it in gold...they just did not know how idiotic and incompatent they were that they did not know what they were talking about....sadness is turning into bitterness now! LOL

Re: Wedding Dress Sadness
I know this doesn't help but I'd be so ****ed at Bridal Reflections!
However, don't listen to me because it doesn't help matters now, although I would let them hear it from me for telling you, you can get gold.
Good Luck finding a new dress.

Re: Wedding Dress Sadness
Question...is it technically a breach of contract if I don't get the dress I want from them so they need to refund me every penny?

Re: Wedding Dress Sadness
I think it's a breach of contract. Your contract says white with gold embroidery and that is not what you got.

Re: Wedding Dress Sadness
Deb! I am so sorry! That is awful. It seems like they have to do something for you though, if they signed a contract for something they clearly did not provide! Best of luck for working this out- I know you will handle it with a sense of humor and figure something out. We could all gang up and storm Bridal Reflections and demand the gold! I bet we could be a pretty menacing posse of angry brides!

Re: Wedding Dress Sadness
They definitely should return all of your money-- they sold you something that didn't exist.

Re: Wedding Dress Sadness
I think, and someone can correct me if I am wrong, that you should not have to pay for the dress. If the seller can not get a replacement dress that is like the one you contracted for you should not have to pay for the dress. Are they making you pay?Welcome New Vendors
