What day of the week are you getting married on? With Poll

My friend is getting married on a Friday and she has been getting alot of grief from her FH's family because they have to take a day off of work. I told her that it is pretty common to get married on a Friday and not to worry.

I'm getting married on a Saturday.

friday evening columbus day weekend .... we chose friday only bc we have very few OOT guests so it wasnt too much of a hassle!

We were originally thinking of doing a Friday...... we did get a little bit of grief for it.... but, it is because FH's entire family is coming from Baltimore..... we're doing a Sunday instead, and the next day is a holiday for most.

Friday....and Cocktail starts at 8 so noone needs to take off of work.,

Everyone actually said good things to me about Friday because it doesnt kill the weekend., and they have the rest of the weekend to recover.

I think Fridays have become very common. It's much cheaper to get married on Friday than a Saturday and some places even cheaper than a Sunday.

ETA: We're getting married on a Sunday and a lot of people we know are off the next day for Columbus Day.

We chose Friday 8/8/08 because we love the date and the RH is the same price whether you get married on a Friday night or on a Saturday night. Plus with the way our Friends like to party...they'll need the extra time to feel better for work on Monday!!!!!!!!

I'm a Thursday bride!!! The next day is 4th of July so everyone has off!! Tell your friend not to listen to all the talk, I got it to when I said we were going to get married on a Thursday. But, hey, it's the only way we could even afford to pay for it.

I was thinking of getting married on a Friday too...I was told that it's not as big of a deal in the summer, because everyone and their mother would love an excuse to leave work early, lol.

i am getting married on a Friday. We have a lot of OOT but we have let people know in advanced. CH starts at 7:30 so most wont have to take off work.

That's very true!

The one thing I’ll say in warning about Friday is traffic…that’s why we went with a Saturday, because we were originally going to have the wedding in Long Island City and I was nervous about people being stuck in traffic. We switched out to LI so it wasn’t as big of a concern, but we liked the date so we kept it :D

Nah- she shouldnt worry. It is very common now-a days. People have notice that they will need to take off b/c they get the wedding invitation 2 months before. They would complain also if it was a Sun. night. People just like to complain.

Were getting married on a sunday. our other option was a friday. but we liked the sunday better. we have a few OOT guest and it woul dhave been hard for them to get there friday evening. But friday's are very popular. I have been to 2 weddings on fridays in the past 2 years and I have another one in october to go to.

We are getting married on a Sat!!!! Half the BP is fom OOT (FH sibling) and there are quite a few guests, so we thought it would be better.
