i hate when family & friends give the & grief about the day of the wedding--its ONE DAY ppl! seriously they can call out sick or take a day off to do something for THEMSELVES, but ask them to do it for a couple about to get married, and suddenly its a huge issue.

my family tried to give me some grief for having a daytime sunday wedding. (gasp!) my brother biitched that he would have to get up 'early' that day--and i told him he didn't HAVE to do jackshiiit---he could not come.

everyone made it just fine!

We chose Friday 8/8/08 because we love the date and the RH is the same price whether you get married on a Friday night or on a Saturday night. Plus with the way our Friends like to party...they'll need the extra time to feel better for work on Monday!!!!!!!!

Us too... we had to have that date! And it worked out well too because it was cheaper. No one has complained at all to me about it being a Friday night, and if they do i'll tell them to just shut up about it because it's my wedding... and they just don't have to come if they don't like it! If they're the type of people who are complaining to me about what day of the week my wedding is then I probably don't want them there anyways...

I hate the 'oh a friday I have to take off of work'

Its more then a year away I think you will be ok I tell ppl. And also if they dont like it tell them to pay for your wedding so you can have it on a Saturday

My wedding is on a friday in Sept. So the summer is over already and kids have school. But the only kids invited are my own brothers and sisters.

But my 9 year old brother is very excited to take off of school. And my sisters who will both be away for college (one 1st year the other 3rd year) don't mind at all taking off. And they were the only ones I worried about- but it is much more affordable for us to have a friday night wedding.

But FIL's definitely had something to say about it. Our cocktail hour starts at 8:30pm I know it is kinda late. But the church is at 5pm in Babylon and hall in Mineola so plenty of time incase traffic and hey no one really has to take off work if they dont want too....

I am getting married on a Friday night too. I haven't heard any grief about it (yet).

I sent out STDs at about the 1 year mark to give people time. If they want to be there they will be there!

Friday - our church is at 4 and the CH is at 7:30

We are getting married on a Sat!!!! Half the BP is fom OOT (FH sibling) and there are quite a few guests, so we thought it would be better.

Friday night! The CH doesn't start till 7:30 and most people are local. I wish I could afford a Saturday but that's not happening.

I look at it this way: The ceremony will be attended by my close friends and family. Intimate! And the rest can go to work and have some good food and partying at 7:30.

Hey, whatever day a bride and groom decide to marry will be the best day of their lives.

that's crazy...im getting married on a friday. people can't plan to take 1 day off NEXT year! i wouldn't let that stress me. and i have family coming from another state and country.

Sunday. alot of my family members leave everything for the last minute and all need 3hrs at the salon so Friday was out of the question if I wanted them at the church ceremony. Saturday was very pricey and Sunday seemed like a good day to have a ceremony at 2:30 CH at 6:30. more than enough time to take pictures and early enough to party all Sunday until 12am. my OOT guest are making my wedding their 1 week off from work. so they will be here even for a Monday after party

Im gonna be the oddball of the group...My wedding is on a Thurday AFTER the holiday weekend. I've heard a few comments, but family and friends have reassured us that they dont care when it is they will be here no matter what!! Its one day, and if its that much of a hassel than I wont stress people not showing up. Regardless of who is or isnt there we are still getting married and celebrating afterward. You cant make the whole world happy.

saturday... ceremony is 3pm and cocktail hour starts at 6pm. i think if anyone complains about when your wedding is they shouldnt be there anyway.. they should be happy for you and want to be there no matter what day of the week it is!

Sunday Columbus Day weekend. It was cheaper for a Sunday and we hope it would be easy for family and friends to take off work on the Monday but is also a day wedding.
