anyone go to the greek islands for their honeymoon???

We leave on august 8th for our honeymoon and we're sooo excited!!!!!
we're going to athens, crete, santorini and mykonos. we're just island hopping---no cruise...anyone been there and have recommendations for us? food? fun? historic places to see? best picture spots?

santorini is one of the best islands you will ever go to...at least thats what i think

all i can really recommend for you to do in Athens is to obviously go to acropolis, plaka, likavito and go eat at ancient times (its really cool because they all dress in ancient greek clothes and even serve ancient food - like wheat and chicken legs) you will love it!!!! have a great time ohhh
and be prepared for the flight its 9 hours to go and 10 and change to come back!!!

Ohhhh soooo nice!!! You're going to have an awesome time! We went to Santorini and Mykonos too. For dinner in Mykonos we ate at a place called 'Little Venice'. It was on the water overlooking the windmills. The food was great and I had probably the best Muscles Marinara EVER!
Just be prepared, if you order fish - its usually not filets, its usually the entire fish including eyes, teeth, bones etc.
Any place in Santorini is a gorgous picture spot!

We went to the same exact islands! If you have time, you should definitely go to Delos. You can take a half day excursion to Delos from Mykonos.
Also definitely go to the Palace of Knossos in Crete.

Ohhhhhhhh have fun, we didn't but that is a trip on our list of places to go!!!

sure...

in athens we loved wandering la plaka.... you can get some fab sandals there (my weakness)....

in crete, we went to iraklion and chania. chania is fine for a day, but it would get a bit dull if you stayed for several days.... iraklion is close to the palace knossos, and it is worth the bus ride to see...

There is an amazing restaurant for the locals in iraklion... it's pretty much opposite the ventian port. There are several large umbrellas outside, and you order your items by checking them off the list..... we got 'beefs' We HAD to.... it's BEEFS!

In santorini, I highly recommend you stake out a restaurant in oia near the fort (where the best sunset views are), and plant yourself at a table for a 3 hour liesurely dinner..... the pics / video will be priceless....

as for food, greek salad rocks. We ate it 2X a day. We also really liked cappuccino freddo, which is an iced cappuccino, but not as sweet and shake-like as starbucks. The desserts are soooooo honey-filled, they literally will put you to sleep.... even if you split one, so beware!

we went on a cruise that stoped in Mykonos and Athens. Athens was ok but Mykonos - OMG!!! Amazingly beautiful and so white! Check out some pics in my album. The restaurants are adorable and have the most amazing views. The beaches are so clean and luxurious! Have a great time!
