How do you display WEDDING STUFF after the wedding?
Like most of you, I have a ton of wedding stuff that I would like to hang/display in my house stylishly - mostly photos but also some other items like my invite, a dried flower from my bouquet, etc...Anyway I can do this stylishly without looking like a cluttered mess? Pictures would be appreciated :D

Re: How do you display WEDDING STUFF after the wedding?
I alreday have pics posted on my walls, such as in my living room, and in the hallway on a table.Im still waiting to have our portrait framed.
Im also waiting to pick up a lighted curio that is still at my parents house, and I would like to put stuff in there such as our cake topper(wich is in my china cabinet now), and put my unity candle.

Re: How do you display WEDDING STUFF after the wedding?
I just went to a store in Syosset to get my invite framed. Its really expensive, but I did it anyway. They put it in a frame with flowers, lace, pears, etc, whatever you want basically. I'll let you know how it comes out. But if I were creative enough I probably would have saved the $$ and done it myself! As far as the other stuff.... I have no idea what I am going to do with it, other than pictures in frames!

Re: How do you display WEDDING STUFF after the wedding?
Stef - so far, the only things that I've done are create a silk replica of my bouquet, which I plan on shadowboxing with one our invites, and two sandollars that were napkin rings from our table. Also, I have all the dried flowers from my bouquet and one of my bridesmaid's bouquet, that I will use as potpourri in one of the hurricane lamps that were in our centerpieces.
Edited to add - I was also given our invite framed with pressed flowers (similar to Teri's below) as a gift from one of my best friends. It's beautiful, and as soon as we have a house, I plan on hanging it up!

Re: How do you display WEDDING STUFF after the wedding?
I don't have any room for any of this yet, but I plan to create a scrapbook with all of the things I kept - a sample of my invite, program, RD invite, etc.I already have a copy of my invitation framed, with dried pressed flowers - below is a pic - maybe you can look into this? (There's a contact name and # on the back of my frame) I have no idea how much it costs - we got ours as a gift.
We were given a few Lenox frames, so we'll use those for pictures around the house.
I also dried my bouquet....it looks great but I have no idea where to display it!

How much does framing your invitation usually cost? I haven't really done much and I am now starting to look into this.

Re: How do you display WEDDING STUFF after the wedding?
My SIL framed my invite and it really cost her nothing..She went to ACmoore/Michaels and bought a simple Black frame, some black backing and a few flowers and I have it hanging on my wall...I also have two small tables in my living room and I have 2 8x10 familly pictures(mine and his) and On my Sofa table I have an 8x10 in a frame and then I just have other pictures in frames scattered through the house. I also have my Ketubah framed when you first walk in....

Re: How do you display WEDDING STUFF after the wedding?
Teri, I love your invitation, so pretty!I plan on doing a collage of wedding pics (proofs and some amateur shots) down our wall by the stairs. I thought I would buy some collage type frames and others (not all matching). I love pictures so this would be so typical for when you come into our house.

Re: How do you display WEDDING STUFF after the wedding?
Thanks
My cousins framed this for me as part of our wedding gift - she uses a woman from East Islip, that works out of her home. She even grows all of the flowers she uses in her backyard! If you're able to successfully press flowers, it's probably not that hard - all you need is a nice frame, linen for the matting, and you can individually glue the flowers on....it's probably more time consuming than anything.
If anyone wants I can get the woman's # for you - it's at home hanging on the wall!

Re: How do you display WEDDING STUFF after the wedding?
I went this weekend to a frame store called Framing Mantis in Williston Park... they are putting my dried boquet with an invite and a program in a shadow box (3-D frame). It is great, you get to pick out the matting, frame type/color, etc. I will post a picture when I get it back (next week). It is a bit expensive, but I think its worth it to have all those memorie preserved in such a beautiful manner. But it will put all the rest of our 'artwork' (framed posters from IKEA!) to shame!

What I have done
I have a scrap book for things like my chocolate place card wrappers, match, napkin and anything else.I bought a nice album, which looks like crap now, since it has been handled by so many people for all our best proofs. The others are in the box we got them in.
I have invested in a alot of frames
I recently got a call that my bo-k preservation is ready to be mailed, which I paid for yesterday...it was a pretty penny indeed, I loved my bo-k so much I did not mind at all. I also got our invite placed on the left side of it. When it arrives I will take a pix of it to share
Anything else I have sold or given away. I hate to be a pack rat or keep anything that we are not using.

Re: sonic
One of our Wedding gifts was our invitation framed in a mat that matched our wedding colors, so I didn't have to worry about having that done.I also took some of the dried flowers from my bo-k and put them in a shadow box with one of my programs and my DH's bout.
I plan on purchasing a curio cabinet for my cake topper and the bride and groom Lladro we received and will also put one of our framed wedding pics and the shadow box in their too. I want to keep it all together, though I'll sprinkle framed pics throughout the house (when the remodeling is done).
I also received a hand-made scrap/memory book, which I used for all the wedding and shower cards. That's on the coffee table. I will put the Wedding album with it when it's completed.
