January Honeymoon Help!!(this is long)
Ok ladies,Our wedding is fast approaching and we still haven't booked our honeymoon. FH says, 'I don't care.. where ever you want...'
So I've been busy researching HM ideas:
10 cruise on Queen Mary 2 out of NY to Carribbean.
10 Cruise to the Panama Canal (out of Miami)
or
Hawaii - FH friends love the Westin Moana Surfrider in Waiikiki. (I'm not into Waikiki but I probably would spend a few days there if we could decide on which other Islands to go to.
Any thoughts? Has anyone taken any of these trips.
As a background - I love sightseeing and touring around but FH likes to hang out by the pool and do nothing.

I wouldn't do a cruise from NY in January - you'll be in the cold for a day or two on each end of the cruise...just my 2 cents....

Have you looked into any hawaiian cruises around that time? It would combine the two I think: travel around but still have time to just lay by the pool
Check out this SITE There are alot to choose from! HTH!

hmm maybe go to mexico or somewhere like that. Its AI and you can spend part of the day by the pool and on the beach adn part of the being active and doing things like touring the ruin, snorkeling, dolphion swims etc. There are a bunch of amzing looking places in the Riviera Maya.

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic is a great place for sun bathing/relaxing and sight seeing. The Lifestyle Hacienda Resort, is amazing for a honeymoon ! It's all inclusive and there are private villas with their own swimming pool, daily in villa breakfasts ...and 7 restaurants to choose from.
The VIP amenities are outstanding !

I agree a cruise out of NY will be freezing and IMO not the best way to start out a HM

I think Hawaii is a dream destination, if you can afford it go for it!

Re: January Honeymoon Help!!(this is long)
honestly-if your FH's friends live in Hawaii- you can always make that a vacation..:) sometimes Hawaii has amazing flights lowest i've seen them were low 500s-anyhoot
as for a cruise leaving from Hawaii- that may work making an extension to visit friends after but not b4, your in Honeymoon mood!
a cruise in Jan...from NY to Caribbean, think about it your 1st two days in very cold weather with choppy rough seas doesn't matter what ship you'll be on even the QM2 -(and i wasn't so impressed by the ship*) besides the caribbean is a trip you can always take...so many great deals
out there...
if u can do the Panama Canal cruise on Celebrity OR Princess you will be happy great itinerary so from all you mentioned- think about Hawaii OR Panama
or in Jan- think about Los Cabos...or lately i've been selling a lot of Windjammer cruises - check out there site...
good luck! if u want FM me i can help you out!

Re: January Honeymoon Help!!(this is long)
Thanks for your help ladies. We decided to go to Hawaii. We have some american express miles so we are able to fly first class out of Newark. Right now the game plan is to go to Waikiki for 4 nights and Maui and Kauai for 5 nights each. I'm starting to get excited about the honeymoon. Suddenly the wedding is not so far off and everything is starting to come together.Welcome New Vendors
