Plus-Sized Wedding Dresses?

Does anyone know (other than David's Bridal) if the LI stores carry plus size bridal dresses IN the stores? Feel free to suggest any of the stores.

I would assume most places would have plus size sample to try on. Bridal Suite in Centereach had a good selection. Also try Bridal Elegance in Dix Hills, and Bridal Suite in Bayshore. I hear lots of good things about them too.

call the stores ahead of time to see if they carry larger sample sizes in any particular dress you wish to try on.

Bridal Reflections in Massapequa, Lillette's in Baldwin were two places where I tried on size 16, 20 and 24 gowns. I only went to four shops, but would not recommend the other two.

Most dresses can be purchased in plus sizes; unfortunately what the stores have as their samples run in all different sizes.

Mine dress is a 16W but the sample I tried on was a 10 and I still fell in love with it.

i went to bridal suite in bay shore--and they had some plus size samples in stock

honestly--if you have good ppl helping you--they can do wonders of putting you in a dress and using clips and such to give you an idea of how it will fit on you in your size. my gown was about 3 sizes too small when i tried it on--and they worked their magic--even ripping the dress a little bit !

Beautiful Bride in Lynbrook carries plus-size Alfred Angelo bridal gowns. I was able to try on the one that I really liked (saw it on the internet) in my size...it was a little big too.

While you might not be comfortable with the experience, I found trying on the regular samples to be much preferred rather than limiting myself only to what I could try on in my size.

The zippers on a lot of dresses go really far down as I was wearing a size 10 and I dont think I was BORN a size 10!

Though david's bridal carries extended sizes and is good place to start to get an idea of the type of dress that you'll like.

Burton's on 110 in Melville. They even ripped a dress for a girl to try it on so she could see it on herself. I have heard nothing but great things about their service to plus sized brides.

Just an FYI, there are many horror stories surrounding Bridal Reflections in Massapequa.
