Review Royal Cancun

Hi ladies,
Not sure if you all remember but I got married in 2005 and the resort I was suppose to goto for our HM got destroyed by the hurricanes. We wound up going to Cabo and had a "good" time but wished it was better. My husband and I went on vacation last week and we just got back. The place we stayed at was so incredible and great for a honeymoon I already put my review on advisos.com but wanted to share it with all of you incase anyone was thinking of this resort!

First off let me say the resort is new and opened in May!

Here is my review:
Flight: Jet Blue Airlines flew out of JFK airport both going and coming the flight was perfect. We like Jet Blue due to the fact you have your own TV and also lots more leg room. We landed early both coming and going which is always a good thing! A+

Airport and Transfers: We have been to Mexico before so we knew what to expect. We found our transfer company very easily and they picked us up on time, both ways!

Hotel:
Check in: Very fast and simple. We checked in at 1pm and our room was ready! Concierge was so friendly and explained everything to us in detail.

Room: 222 Corner suite. The room was very spacious, the shower was a double sided shower which was awesome, had a sauna inside of it! Double sink area which is always helpful when getting ready.
We had a fully stocked refrigerator and liquor cabinet
Bose system, flat screen TV, ipod, fluffy queen size bed and a jacuzzi bath tub. Our view over looked the ocean and had a hammock on the balcony.
Only complaint, was our air conditoner was not working well.. We had someone come 3 times to try and fix it, but we really didnt complain to much about it, and didnt really want to change our room... I am sure if we wanted to they would have changed it.
We got to choose our room make up time, and turn down service. It was so nice at night to come in to candles and turn down service.
Room Service was great food was very good. It was also very quick!

Resturants:
We went to the Asiana twice! We love Sushi and japanese food the service was GREAT the food was AWESOME! both times it was 100% They had a Mexican as well, but I loved the Asiana so much we went back for more!
We went to the buffet twice and for breakfast every day it was a really good buffet! We went over to the Gran Caribe there sister resort, and it did not even compare to the Royal's buffet.

Spa:
We had 2 different spa services. Day 1 we had wraps done, I got the chocolate wrap and it was incredible. Everyone again was so friendly and nice to us. Me and my husband had a ball in the spa. Day 2 we did the couples massage on the beach/gazebo and it was so nice, they came to our room, and set up the jacuzzi with rose petals, candles and champagne!

Extra's we did:
We had a dinner for two on the beach, this was better then our honeymoon. The food was EXCELLENT. We had surf and turf and it was so nice. Wine, Champagne desserts 2 hours and well worth every penny! We had a private waiter Marco who was so nice.

TimeShare: We took the tour, we wanted to hear what they had to say. 90 minutes, and they give you $50 you can use anywhere so we knew we had spa appointments and figured hey what the heck, we can use it towards it. After the 90 minutes, we loved the resort so much, and thought the deal they were giving was well worth the price so we did it! We now have time share with the Royal and also with the RCI company. We wound up getting our Dinner on the beach for free, and $300 instead of $50 so our massage was free also! Plus now we can go on more and more trips!

When they say 5 star resort they mean it!

Next resort we are going to check out is the The Royal in Playa. They are also opening up 3 other resorts Cabo, Ixtapa and somewhere else but dont remember the area.

I have photos and a video of our room, and view but need to download them to.

any questions feel free to email me I hope this helps someone!

Sue
