Help - Picking BM Dresses!

How did you pick your BM dresses? I have no clue and am starting to stress out!!! I know I would like lilac/lavendar dresses (I'm having a daytime wedding in July). I'm looking for a dress that is flattering on all the women and not too expensive (preferably under $200). I thought about me picking 2-3 styles from the same designer and having the girls select which style they like. However, I don't know where to start! HELP!!!

Re: Help - Picking BM Dresses!

I started off with an idea of what I wanted teh girls to wear. By the time we left it was compeltely different and they are gorgeous.

Try to be a little flexible.

I also picked the color first and then went to a couple of stores to see what they had. When I found a store that had a selection of differnent styles in the color I wanted in a decent price I got all the girls together. I went to Cathy's in Lindenhurst.

Re: Help - Picking BM Dresses!

I don't mind being flexible. However, one BM and my MOH are out of town (Boston and North Carolina), so I can't even see them try on different style gowns. My other BM can try on styles with me, but is it necessary? If so, where do I go?

Re: Help - Picking BM Dresses!

Ok - are you ready?

I knew I love navy, and I was ready to go with a simple $100 navy dress from Davids...and then I went with 3 BM to look at my dress, and one of them saw a really cute dress for $210! and I said 'no way are you spending that kind of money', and they said - 'if you like it, we'll spend it', and they tried it on, and all of them said they would wear it again....so I said 'you twisted my arm'

I'm serious - that's what happened. It really didn't hurt that the BM who tried it on is a clothes horse, and could be a model

Re: Help - Picking BM Dresses!

We went to Elmont Bridal, they had a huge selcetion of dresses. They also gave us a 15% discount on each dress because I had a party of 6 girls.
