Full Catholic mass wedding

For those of you having one ... are you having a seperate reader for the General Intercessions (prayer of the faithful)

We asked people to do the readings - but forgot about this prayer and i wasnt sure who usually reads it at a wedding - if its another reader

Also are you having additional Eucharistic ministers? Are you doing bread and wine?

I know i need to call my priest and discuss with him -- but i was curious as to what everyone else is doing -- thanks

Re: Full Catholic mass wedding

only one of the people we asked to do a reading said they would

we have no idea who is going to do the others.

you can have a seperate reader for the prayer of the faithful, at least I think that's what we were told.

Re: Full Catholic mass wedding

I have one readr for the first reading and another for the second reading. the reponsorial psalm will be sung by the cantor and then another reader for the prayer of the faithful. I was told I could have two readers for that but I just chose one.

So three readers altogether. I am also have my uncle give out the eucharist with my priest. They did not ask me about bread and wine. I know FH and I receive both but I am not sure about everyone else.

hope this helps

I forgot about the prayer of the faithful when we asked us readers - i have someone id like to ask - but they are not Catholic - would that be ok

Im wondering if its a bad idea - would she even know how the prayers goes - does the church prefer a catholic for that particular prayer

the prayer of the faithful is when they read all the pentions. Please pray for those who are sick, etc.

my church did not ask if any of the readers are catholic.....so if thats what you want to do they go for it....
Personally I feel the people who are a part of the mass should be the religion

I don't know if anyone is still posting here but does anyone know if the Responsorial Psalm has to be sung? Can you have a reader read it?

it does not have to be sung. even if u have a cantor u can request the cantor to just read it or have someone u picked just read it. j

ust from talking to our church people...there are some responsorial psalms they prefer to be sung and some they prefer to read (but that's just at our place).
