Re: Catholic brides having a church wedding...
I don't go and I feel bad also. I keep saying I'm going to go and then I go out late on Saturday nights and there's no way I can wake up for church. Oh well.

John & I went to meet with our organist last Sunday & threw a whole bunch of the pre printed envelopes with our name on it at once-like 5 weeks worth
, think they'll realize?

They may realize, but they sure as hell won't care as long as it's green!

My priest didn't even offer the quickie ceremony...I felt bad asking for it if he didn't offer it.

Re: Catholic brides having a church wedding...
I don't have a choice. I asked my FH is we could do the quick ceremony and he said he didn't think it was a wise idea since his mom is a former nun, so we're stuck with the full mass.

Re: Catholic brides having a church wedding...
I feel just like Wacky. Except when I do speak to my priest, I feel like he is going to curse me or something for not going to church! I have to get my butt in there for Ash Wednesday and after that. Gotta see how the church is decorated for Lent since my wedding falls during that time.Have to start somehow right?

Re: Catholic brides having a church wedding...
the last time i went was x-mas and i probably won't go again until easter. i haven't been a regular church goer for quite some time now. i know it's bad that i think this way but i really want to see the church on easter because i am getting married next year the week after easter and i want to see what the church looks like. my priest said that if we don't have a full mass, the ceremony will still be about 45 minutes. he said a full mass is closer to an hour. how short is a 'quickie' ceremony supposed to be?
