Ering/wedding band drama
Ok girls so I need some advice in regards to my ering and wedding band.I have a princess cut diamond with two trillion stones on the side. I picked out this style ring back last year when my fiance and I were looking. Ever since I have gotten it I have had minor issues with the trillions (they get dirty very easily). I always thought that some day when I upgrade my ring I will get a new setting without the trillions.
So here is the problem, now Im out there shopping for wedding bands and Im having such a hard time finding a band that fits nicely with the trllions because there is always a gap between the rings (and I really wanted to wear the rings on the same hand).
So today I went to ELSA showroom in farmingdale and she showed me some options which could work for now and reminded me that I could change my E ring band in the future but then she also showed me a e-ring/wedding band set that was so beautiful and within my price range and I ordered it! This new set is Pave stones, totally different from what I have now.
Now Im feeling so weird about it. FH says he doesnt mind at all that I change the setting of the Ering but I dont know if he really means that or just wants to make me happy. I feel guilty changing my ering even though Im not 100% happy with it.
What should I do?
Should I leave it as is and maybe change it in the future and in the meantime find a wedding band i like?
Or should I get the matching set and totally change the look of my ering?
Hmmm Im stressing over here! Any thoughts? Id appreciate your input.

If you love the new set and FH is ok with it, i'd change it. Even if momentarily it is weird, once you have it for a few weeks it'll feel natural and you'll totally love it.Any pics?

Re: Ering/wedding band drama
I have the same problem with my ring as well. I have a three stone ring (all princess cut). I could have gotten a custom band that would have a slope where it would meet with the center stone but then if I ever wanted to just wear the band it would look retarted. So I ended up getting a princess cut band(5 stones with prongs) and a plain white glod ring with scattered diamonds for everyday. It will have a little gap but it won't be very noticeable.

The new setting would look like this.
This is very pretty. Would you keep the stone round or princess cut? It is a totally different look from what you have. It's really up to you. you should go with what makes you happy and what you really love.

Re: Ering/wedding band drama
This is my honest opinion....When it comes to my personal experience...if FH says he doesnt mind...he means it....He sees you are having a hard time, and wanting a band to fit flush with the E ring is important to u. Thats why he doesnt mind. He wants you to be happy.
I dont think its that you dont believe him, its bc yu feel guilty. Dont ever feel guilty for wanting to be happy.
I fight with FH constantly about these things. I feel so guilty about wanting something, when he says 'ok its fine' I shoot back with 'I dont believe you' and it just goes back and forth. I dont believe him bc I feel guilty for wanting something.
Your FH is a good egg. He just wants u to be happy!

Re: Ering/wedding band drama
Maybe you can get the new set and put the diamond in the new set and then replace the diamond in the center of the original ring with your birthstone and wear it on your right hand....this way you won't be getting rid of it.

Re: Ering/wedding band drama
I say change it now, because otherwise in the future you might want to change your wedding band also... I think if he said he doesn't mind.. then he doesn't

Re: Ering/wedding band drama
I have a similar issue since my ering is all emerald stones. I'm just going to have my band custom fit to my ering.

Re: Ering/wedding band drama
I love the new one you picked out, very pretty. I honestly had to exchange my first setting because one stone fell out and had another one loose. It killed me, FH made me get a new one, he picked out the 2nd one. I didn't think I could but I did fall in love with my new one. I even like it better than my first one...oops did I say that!

Re: Ering/wedding band drama
Ok...I would personally wait to change the e-ring. ONLY MY OPINION...but I would feel weird having a different e-ring so soon after I got it. I would get the band you really want and wear the e ring on the right hand. This way they don't have to fit together and it won't be a bing deal when you get another setting for the e ring. I am planning on doing this because this wedding is killing us and we don't have the $$ to get a really expensive band so I'm getting a less expensive one now and wearing by itself so in a few years I can fit them together when I get a ring with BLING! JMOGood luck!

Re: Ering/wedding band drama
I would not be able to part w/ my original e-ring entirely
I would do one of two things. Have a band custom made to fit your e-ring or have the stones in your e-ring reset into a setting that will be easier to pair with a band. Make sure to save the original e-ring setting!! Have it reset with other stones maybe for your 5 or 10 year anniversary

Re: Ering/wedding band drama
My e-ring was 3 pear shaped stones. I changed my setting as soon as i realized that no wedding band would able to fit near my ring.Fh was not so happy with my decision but at the same time I will wear this ring forever and I think I should also be 100 % happy.
I made my e-ring a solitare and then used the two side stones in my custom made wedding band.
Fh is okay with it now, I say if hes ok with it do it... you arereally the one that needs to be happy with it.
good luck.. elsas is awesome
