marriage license question
How soon before my wedding date do I need to go to get one?Do I go to town hall to get it?
What do I need to bring with me?
how much do they usually cost?
i live in centereach in suffolk

YOu have to get it within 60 days prior to your date...but at least 24 hours before-there is a 24 hour waiting period.You go to the town hall that is in the town you are getting married in.
You will need your DL, SS card, Birth certificate, passport-2 of any of these
I think ours was 40-maybe 35 not sure
Payable in cash at some locations-money order or check is the smarter way but you need to know the cost

just wanted to add that you can get the license in any town hall in the entire state--whether its in Long Island of Buffalo....makes no difference.
