Please help.. Any tuxedo shops have tuxedo's to try on instead of flipping through books?
Was I wrong to believe my FH and I could go into a tuxedo shop and have him try on tuxes? We went to 2 places in Suffolk today and were told both times we have to pick from a book (although both places had really nice, helpful people, I really want to SEE him in some tuxes). Are there any places in Nassau or Suffolk that have some different style tuxes that he can actually try on or is this the norm?
Thanks.

Elite Tuxedos on Old Country Rd has everything on premises. They will also let you try on. My hubby has gotten tuxedos there for every occasion need included our wedding.

Mishy,My fiance just reserved his tux a couple of weeks ago. We went to a place in Nassau, called Foresto Tuxedo of Mineola. (309-11 Willis Avenue in Mineola). There were a few men helping the customers and they all were great. Pat tried a few different types of jackets and within a half an hour we were done. These peope were so helpful, did not mind bringing out more styles or sizes for him to pick. (I wish my dress shopping experience had been so painless!!!) I definetely recommend checking them out.

Thanks ladies. I feel much better now knowing we can go to a shop and have him actually try on the tuxes. He was even saying he is so picky, that he would hate to pick one out of a book without trying it on because he was afraid it would come in and then he wouldn't like it. Thanks so much!

We had the same problem. There was NO WAY he was picking a tuxedo without seeing how it looked on him beforehand. We went to NJ to Barry's Formalwear and rented from them. We only had to go there once because they came to our home to measure the guys, deliver and pick up the tuxes. And they have EVERYTHING in stock and in all sizes.
