Letterpress meets Metalic Card Stock...

Okay this is wrong I know... but explore the idea with me..

What if you have sapphire blue metallic pocketfold with letterpress inserts with lime and fuschia ink on them?

Anyone ever heard of letterpressing metallic cardstock?

Re: Letterpress meets Metalic Card Stock...

No, I did not think you can do that. When you do letterpressing the words are embedded in the paper and because the metallic paper is think and has shimmer embedded in the paper you will not have the same effect. I would call up a printer and ask them.

Re: Letterpress meets Metalic Card Stock...

yep, the lady that will print said letterpress wont really press, but you can do gold ink on it and it will be gorgeous..I was like woah, no gold ink!

But she said embossing will be subtle and interesting, hmm .. ?

So I think I'm going to do metalic pocketfolds with letterpress inserts ... sound nutty, but my colors are wild enough to work I think .. I hope

That is cool. If you are doing layers, have the layers in metallic colors and then the letterpress invite.

Re: Letterpress meets Metalic Card Stock...

What color is the insert again? I mean if its a metallic blue pocketfold with what I am assuming is lime green card stock with fuschia text (fuschia might get darker once laid on the lime green card stock unless your floading the paper green while printing the fuschia). It will look fine. I am really thinking but adding a pressed look to it your really over doing it. I mean letterpress is a nice touch but really unnec. when your going to put it on a pocketfold in my mind. Its like paying a ton of money for a single diamond ring and then adding ten diamond wedding bands around it - kinda taking away from it.

If she is doing a raised ink then that might work depending on the design of the text and if you have graphics on it.

Personally you have such a modern concept with the colors I would keep it more modern - flat ink simple design with lights of air.

My Edit: Make sure your response cards are not on metallic stock - you can not write on them.
