ok so we dont have any place booked yet but I am pretty sure FH and I are 100% decided on our bridal party...but not the question is, is it too early to tell them (bc we dont have a hall booked) and if its not, I want to get them all gifts and a cute card asking them to be in the party, any ideas?? Thanks girls, you all always have the best ideas!!

Re: picking/telling bridal party??
I would suggest not telling them...I made the mistake of telling people and now I am beginning to regret some of my decisions...If I could do it over I would Wait until later

Re: picking/telling bridal party??
I would definitely wait to tell them. I've been engaged since 2005. I had my eparty in July 06 where I asked them. However, since then, Fh has kicked out 3, replaced one, and I've kicked out three. Added one which I should've since the beginning, because she's been one of the best in helping me.If I had waited till the year mark to ask them, my BP would be completely different. It causes soo much less drama to wait.. I know you may say its not going to change, but you never know. The three I kicked out, and one of FHs are my cousins, and because of family drama, they are out.

Take some time and think about it before you start picking.

Re: picking/telling bridal party??
yeah I'm having this problem too. My mom said that I should ask everyone at my eparty which I plan on doing in Aug. We might hold off on that now until next year but I didnt want to have it too close to the wedding. I dont want people to feel like they have the e party, then showers, bparty. etc. back to back. I was trying to have my eparty asap. But I'm def. not ready to pick my bridal party too much drama right now :(

Re: picking/telling bridal party??
Oh, definitely wait! You might realize you really didnt want someone or you really did want someone and it'll be too late. I only told my BP right away because they're all family. FH has not though. He's still thinking about it.

Re: picking/telling bridal party??
I ask after I had teh RH booked. I believe the rule of thumb is to ask before or near the e-party. I have ask all my bridesmaid. I got them each a little something, like $10 gift, and a card. The card has a pink dress on it and says will you be my bridesmaid. I found them in a paper store.

I would still wait. You NEVER know... Like I mentioned, the ones I cut out of the wedding (3 BMs and 1GM) are cousins.

2 of mine are my sisters and the other 2 are cousins, and we've always been so close that I consider them more like sisters. If the circumstances were any different, I would have waited.

i asked my girls to be in my bridal party back in november, and we still havent booked a place lol. it doesnt matter if you are booked or not, just as long as you def want these people in your bridal party. i made cute little cards with a poem in them and had cookies made up that said ' will you be my bridesmaid? '

Re: picking/telling bridal party??
I asked EVERYONE right away! I was wayyy too excited. My MOH is my Best friend, one of BMs is a good friend from college, everyone else is related.I had no trouble asking these people because I know in two years we'll still be close.

Re: picking/telling bridal party??
Is it necessary to have a bridal party? we've considered opting out of this tradition to mixed reviews. I watched both my brothers go through major drama with their wedding parties so I'm anti bridal party. Is this totally out of the question?

I don't think its necessary at all! It's your wedding, after all. What you can do is just have a MOH and best man, so you at least have two people to help you, and if you can just pick family members so no one is dissapointed.
