Is it necessary to have a bridal party? we've considered opting out of this tradition to mixed reviews. I watched both my brothers go through major drama with their wedding parties so I'm anti bridal party. Is this totally out of the question?

i don't think it's necessary either. I felt a little weird at 1st only having 2 in my party (my SIL and good friend) but you know what? Those 2 are the closest peeps to me and have been through thick and thin together. My Fh is planning on having like 6 or so

i also have to add, i'm so non traditional...so do what makes you feel happy.

Re: picking/telling bridal party??

I had considered the MOH and BM only, but then there are those who feel they should be in the wedding party, and I'm sure drama would unfold. One person in particular is known for her inappropriate outbursts. Just keep reminding myself its about us, not them and ours has been as untraditional a relationship as you can get so why stop now =0) I just wanted to know I wasn't crazy for not wanting a bridal party. I'm sure now I'll hear how selfish I'm being

Re: picking/telling bridal party??

Hi Ladies,
I wish I can go back in time lol. I was so excited after we got engaged in October that I asked a friend of mine who I grow up with. This person & I have been friends for a very long time but have become distant in the last few years. When I asked her we were hanging out a lot more & since we have been in each others lives for sooo long I just had to ask her. Now we have become distant again & I am unsure if she even really wants to be in my BP.

I am unsure how to approach the situation I do not want to hurt anyone's feelings. I also feel if she does really want to be in my BP then that's great maybe this will bring us closer again, but if she really doesn't want to be I want her to know there is no hard feelings & she can be apart of my wedding in another way. I just have to figure out how to talk to her, she gets sensitive.

Any suggestions?

Also my FH could not picj btw his two uncles as BM that he is very close to so he picked both. I only have my cousin as MOH but now I am thinking of making my other cousin MOH, she is a BM already does that look bad?

for the friend thing just be honest with her...sit down with her and just ask her...of course its easier said than done, but it just needs to happen, and it should happen soon so you have time to figure out another bridesmaid...
For you MOH thing, dont worry about having an even bridal party or anything like that...if you only want your MOH as the only one then thats fine. you dont need to have two if you dont want to.

Its true, you can try all you want to make everyone happy but it doesnt work all the time...good luck talking to her, if your just honest and upfront about it there shouldnt be a problem. If you need anything else let us know!!
