Cake cost...
For those who didn't have your hall/caterer supply your cake, how much did it cost you per slice and/or in total?

Re: Cake cost...
Mine is included also, but...I did do research just in case I hated it!On average...simple cakes start at about $3 a slice. The more ornate, the higher the price of course. Most I looked at were in the $4-5 range. Just way insane for a cake that no one eats! The best cake designers are upwards of about $6 per slice.
You can get a simple white cake for about $3 a slice...and have your florist decorate it for you though...that could save you a lot of money!

Re: Cake cost...
A cake is included in my contract, but I don't know if that bakery can re-create what I want (I sent them an email and they have yet to respond.) I contacted someone else who said they can do it, but it's $8 per slice (not including delivery.)I didn't know if that was the norm or on the high end, since I haven't looked at cake costs at all.

Re: Cake cost...
8 a slice to recreate.....is the hall subsidizing any of that cost because your cake would have been included? That sounds STEEP!

Re: Cake cost...
I haven't really discussed it with my caterer yet. When I emailed them to see when I would begin discussing cake options, they told me 3-4 months prior. Right now I'm 7 months away.I guess I should start asking them these questions now, huh!?!
