09er crashing sorry...have a question about bridal showers
Where do you put that kids are not invited on the shower invites? She my mother is throwing me my shower and we do not want any kids there nor do we feel that we should have to have the kids there. The only child that is invited to my shower is my flower girl that is because she is in my bridal party. We want to make sure that everyone knows that only the adults are invited and we want to make sure that everyone knows that so no one brings there children and says well I was never told that children were not invited. Please help

Have your mom address the invites....Mrs. Jane Smith, and nothing else.

i didnt put kids names and alot of people brought kids and only 1 person even asked my MOH if kids can come. It wasnt a problem since i told my MOH that for the shower kids can come to it since its a daytime event and thought it was fine for them to be there. Was ok since i didnt mind the kids there but if it was the opposite wouldnt have worked out since everyone just brought them.

Just dress it to the adult. . . if you think some people wont get the hint, try word of mouth. . .

Re: 09er crashing sorry...have a question about bridal showers
I am not sure if that will work with my fsil. She will play dumb and say she never saw that. I want it know no kids at the shower and so does my mother. My mother wants the adults to be able to enjoy themselves with out the children there. I know that if it is not spelled out my mother will be dealing with some issues that day and I do not want anyone or anything to wreck this. My Mom is going to all ends to make this special for me and I do not want it wrecked or her getting upset that someone always has to have her way.

It sounds like its an isolated thing with your FSIL- and maybe you should have your fh speak with her.
I know a couple people asked if they could bring their daughters and I am ok with it for the shower but not the wedding- since you are the bride- its however you like it. good luck

Re: 09er crashing sorry...have a question about bridal showers
You should just address the invite "Mrs. XXX". Other than word of mouth, I think that's really the only way unless you write "NO KIDS" on the invitation.
I personally don't have any issues with having children at my shower or wedding - I think they make it more fun!! But since you do, I would spread the word in casual convos.
