I browse craigslist all the time but we're not looking to get a place until January. I hate the listings without pictures. Get a digital camera!!

Is there an extra fee to put pics on there? I gave up searching for ones only with pics b/c there arent any!!!!!
I even email them for pics and either they dont get back to me or say they dont have any... Its crazy! I finally got in touch with someone today and am having FH go check it out since its by his job. It'll prob be another wasted trip I'm sure...

No there's no fee to put pics up. People are just lazy or they know the place is crap and they don't want you to know it right away.

Re: Looking for apartments?
craigslist can get annoying to look for apartments. The pictures thing is aggrevating. Don't they realize that they would get alot more responses and sell the apartment quicker if they put up pics
i dont even look at the listings without pics, i dont want to waste my time. Then you see this alot on craigslist, but you'll see different listings but the same pics and sometimes at the bottom it says pics are of similar apartments so its not even of that apartment
real estate agents just put some other apts pics up bc they feel it looks similar
and lets not forget those that post pics, and the apartment is filthy, like they seriously couldnt take the dishes out of the sink before taking the pic or clean up a bit.
Have you tried MLSLI.com, they always have good pics for the most part. ALSO another good source i found is go to www.newyorktimes.com and go to the real estate section. They have LOTS of apartments for sale and to rent

no problem, im going through the same thing right now and want to bang my head. I am hoping to find a new place by this summer. First let me say that make sure you have everything in order to get a mortgage for when you do find a place. We've been going through this since months before the wedding and with the market now you just deal with so much BS, its aggrevating. I am trying to sell my apartment and at the same time we were going to put in a bid for a place we loved, well the place we loved just sold now so now we have to start over
Good luck

Gina, try Hicksville, Levittown, East Meadow. I noticed there are always apartments in those areas. You can find nice upstairs apartments in houses with your own entrance. Good luck!
