LISAT and anyone who wore their veil UNDER their updo......... HELP !!!!

How did you wear your blusher?
Was it separate from the veil?
Did your updo get covered up?

I ordered my veil for underneath my updo, but I didn't want to have to flip the blusher to cover the updo. ---I KNOW-----I AM VAIN
So I ordered a blusher to wear separately and to slide into the front of my hair (I guess behind the tiara) w/mini combs.
Will this look stupid?

CAN you post pics of what your veil/blusher combo looked like?

Do you have to wear a blusher? I chose not to, I didn't like the idea of having my face covered. I wanted to see everything.

Maybe I am picturing it wrong..but are you planning on having your veil start under your updo and then our blusher start in the front of your head past the updo so that your updo is showing even when your face is covered? Just MO but I think that will look a little silly.

Since you are only going to wear the blusher for the ceremony, you may want the blusher to start where the other part of the veil starts (which will cover your updo for the ceremony) and then remove or fold back the blusher when the ceremony is over.

I had a different type of veil than you but here are some photos, I pinned the veil under the updo so it could be seen when folded back:




PS: Even with the veil over my face I could still see EVERYTHING! Supringly, it didnt obstruct my view at all and I wore it for the WHOLE CEREMONY. Otherwise, I would have never worn it.

My question to you: How do you think it will look if I'm pulling the blusher all the way from under the updo?
Will that also look crazy?

I hate this idea of a blusher, but all the men involved (Len, Dad, and Pastor) want me to wear one

I wore my veil under my updo but it didn't cover it up because I forgot to put my blusher on! Oops. But if you think about it your veil isn't over your face for the whole ceremony so even if it does cover your do everyone will still get to see it once the blusher is flipped back. Plus they will see it durring the reception.

I wore my hair up with my veil starting in the back of my updo, and a blusher. There was a small 'gap' between the two, but it only lasted for the walk down the aisle since my blusher was pulled back before I got to the top of the altar to meet Scott.

Oh, and just because a few guys want you to wear you doesn't mean anything. I wanted to wear one. If you don't then don't. I also kept my veil on for the entire reception, minus the blusher.

Another problem..... my veil is Chiffon, and I can't SEE with it over my face, so the front part would have to be a very sheer TULE,
so the other question is:

Will I look stupid w/different materials?
should I just forsake these men and go w/NO blusehr?

So let's say I decide to follow your advice and pull the blusher from where the veil is, how about the different materials.

Sheer tule and Chiffon, will this look tacky?

First - you clearly do not want a blusher. You should not wear one!

Two - I think mixing the fabrics is a no-no. And since you cant have a chiffon blusher since you cant see through it, its the perfect excuse to give to your family why you wont be wearing one!

Edited to add that my veil is called a cage or drop veil, chapel length, oval shape.

Liz...did you try it on yet? I suggest you try it on to see how it looks. Do whatever makes you feel comfortable. Like Michele said you don't have to if you don't want to.

I didn't wear a blusher either.
DH complained a bit that it was 'traditional' so I put a huge piece of tulle over his head just so he could see why I didn't want one LOL
No one else was bothered by the fact that I didn't have one. I had a full mass (1 1/2 hours!!) and there's no way I could have dealt with that in front of my face for that long.

liz, I won't be wearing a blusher either, somehow, I looked stupid in it, even when it was from the top of updo, and FH actually agreed with me.

Plus, he wanted to see my face when I walk down the aisle...
