NWR: Advice for FH

FH started a new job on 7/1. He doesnt really like it and the pay stinks but of course we need the money. When he interviewed they said it was XX amount of money and 40 hours a week. He gets hired and it was less money and only 37.5 hours a week. The only reason he took it was because he was being laid off because the company he worked for is closing.
He went on an interview today (called in sick) and they want to see him again on thursday. He doesnt know what he should tell his current job. Any ideas?

Re: NWR: Advice for FH

OMG! My FH just went through the same thing 6 months ago. I believe he let them know he had a doctors appt about a week in advance and took a half day. He told them he had it scheduled before he was hired.

His company also lied to him about his responsbilities and the hours... it was his recruiter (headhunter) who made the job appear to be great when it was awful. After about 3 weeks he went to his boss and said Listen.... I was promised this, this and this. And I am not getting that. Then see if they will be willing to give him what they promised him. He can inquire directly with HR about this if he would prefer instead of making waves with his boss. Its so unfair when companies do this.

I wish him the best. It will all work out!
