Re: Book recommendations for HM reading

its not really a mystery, its actually based on a true story and the movie for it is coming out soon...its about the MIT kids who took down vegas, one of the teachers at MIT got a ring of real smart kids to go to vegas to make money by counting cards and all that stuff...its a very fast read

the movie is called 21 but the book is bringing down the house

ive heard alot about confessions of a shopaholic, ive thought about getting it a few times but didnt.

lauren weisberger, the author of the devil wears prada also wrote a book called, everyone worth knowing. That was real good too, and you can see a bit of similarity to devil wears prada, just a little

Thats great, I love it......if she was gonna make a book anywhere near like Devil Wears Prada, 'Everyone Worth Knowing' sounds like the perfect title!! I see a trend with lauren !

Oh and I dunno how deep you wanna get, but New Earth is great reading if your on the beach. Once you get thru chapter 1 which can be a lil overwhelming, its all cake from there. it changes the way you will look at tinhgs!!

Re: Book recommendations for HM reading

I brought a ton on the honeymoon. So glad we did. Lots of baking in the sun and reading!

Everyone Worth Knowing (same author as Devil Wears Prada)

LoveHampton (about a summer sharehouse in the Hamptons - totally fun chick lit)

The Glass Castle (serious read, but SO worth it - true account of a homeless family told through the daughters perspective)

The Gathering (another serious read - but excellent - about an Irish family in Dublin and their coming to grips with the death of their son and the secrets that he kept with him)

I also read some books on autism, but I wont bore people with them. I know you're a teacher, so if you're interested, FM me. Very interesting reads - they don't read like science texts...

She's got a new one too...'Chasing Harry Winston'; not as good as her first two, it's about 3 girls turning 30 and a pact they make to make their lives better...was very cute and definately easy beach reading

Re: Book recommendations for HM reading

I read Eat Pray Love on my Honeymoon and it was PERFECT - LIFE CHANGING!!!

It was perfect to read on vacation because she urges you to truly enjoy every morsel of food, every sunset, every single thing that surrounds you.

Not so perfect because in order to do all of that she has to get a divorce first LOL but once you get past that - PERFECT!
