Do you guys think this is not classy to give at a wedding??

We are going to give wine bottles as favors at our wedding per couple. Now I also wanted to give each person a small box filled with either m&m's or jelly beans. I was discussing this with one of my co-workers and she told me not to do the candies because they were not classy to give people at a wedding. She said I should put macaroons in the boxes instead since it was classier.

Now Im kind of not considering giving out the candies anymore because of what she told me. I just went to a wedding two weeks ago and got a tin filled with jelly beans and thought it was cute and didn't think anything bad about it.

Should I listen to my co-worker and go with the macaroons or go with my idea of the candies???

dont listen to her! we gave out mint tins and kisses in favor boxes and everyone loved it! its your wedding not hers.

i wouldnt listen to the co-worker

give what u like and what u think your guests will like. if ure a fan of macaroons go for it. i was talking to my friend last week about favors and all the girls in her office were raving about the mnms and how they come with faces now

my whole thoughts on favors is that u can never please every single person...so just do what u like.

I definitely wouldn't listen to them!

I am also doing candy - we are from San Francisco so we are doing little baggies of "San Francisco Treats" all candy made in San Francisco (Jelly Belly, Ghiradelli, See's)

I think the favor is something extra for the guests - and is classy regardless of what it is!!!

Don't listen to her!! The wine bottles are enough...but I definitely do not think that candies are "unclassy." Do what you like...try to filter out others opinions....as hard as that is!

i went to a wedding this weekend and they gave bags of kisses and a full bottle of wine - didnt think that was bad - it was just like a little extra something - why wouldnt that be "classy"?

my friend has little tins of m&ms around her wedding, besides another favor. i don't think it's unclassy at all. i love candy! and why are macaroons classier??

I was a little stumped also when she told me that but I didn't say anything to her because we work closely together. I told my other co-worker how did she think cookies were better

I am giving out candies so i definitely love your candy idea. Dont listen to her. It's your wedding hunn not hers!!! let her do the macaroons for her own wedding

For the record...I'd much rather get candy than a macaroon!!! I usually chow on the candy on the car ride home and enjoy every second of it!!! You do what you want...I like the ideas!!!

I think it's an adorable idea...my friend is getting married the week before you and having fall colors and we found foiled covered chocolates that look like leaves in all fall colors. I think people are going to flip over them!

absolutely not...she's crazy! candies are great, everyone loves them and its a favor people will actually enjoy!...especially kids

Everyone loves edible favors whether they are jelly beans or chocolate etc. I dont think people receive a favor and place it in an "unclassy category". Ignore her and if she is invited she gets nothing

She's probably one of those people who measure class by how much money you spend. I bet she wants you to put the macaroons in little louis vuitton tincans too.
