bad news on our place

We signed the papers for the place, sent our contract deposit and the other agent calls me yesterday and says that someone has offered $2500 more than us (probably BS).

So supposedly the owner wants to take the other offer, even though we have all the paperwork almost done, our mortgage is already set up, and we had scheduled closing for September 1st!

I cant believe how greedy some people are- after all thats said and done with taxes and fees, etc- my lawyer said it will only yeild her about $1200

please say a prayer that the greedy b*tch gets over herself and signs the contract. its not that we cant afford it, we just dont think its a good idea to bend on this so we have to hold our price!

Sorry this happened to you, the same thing happened to DH and I a few months ago. We were supposed to close and then less than a week before closing.. someone offered them more $$ and they took it. It will all work out and you will find somewhere fabulous!

thanks girls- I just spoke to my attorney and she spoke to theirs, she thinks its legit and she recommended we make the offer- so we're gonna go for it.

ur absolutely right. you should not bend on that just based on principle...that is bad business practice on part of the owner...its disgusting what she is doing.

We had them pull the same crap when we were buying our house...its BS.

If you are already in contract with the buyer, they can't legally back out for another offer.......

$2500.00 more and all the paperwork is pretty much done? That is just crazy!!!! I hope they don't cause any more bumps in the road for you (devil smiley). Good luck with going for it and I hope it all works out!
