Spinoff: What's the best thing that happened at your wedding?

other than becoming husband and wife?

We had family members that were fighting for 15 years finally talk again! Pretty amazing!! I also really loved our percussionist....totally different!

how could i forget the BEST moment...DH crying the instant he saw me. he swore the whole time we were planning that he would not cry....poor guy

My niece Cecilia was so cute. Everyone thought I was nuts for inviting kids but she had the best time.

She is 2, and if you put her on the floor she would run around and dance and play but if you picked her up she would INSTANTLY fall asleep in your arms!! She was like a toy! My brother called me over to show me and it was hysterical!!
Once her feet hit hte ground her eyes would POP open and she would start dancing like it was her job. too cute

Also, DH started throwing petals BACK at the church guests when they threw some at us. It was so funny and unexpected!

DH's nephews also ruled the dance floor. It was beyond cute!! The youngest one, 5, danced so much and then turned bright red after he was done adn fell asleep. it was so cute!

Having SIL there with her family and the cousins meeting eachother and playing together. She lives overseas so we dont see her often.

During dinner my dh had requested that the dj paly DIG by INCUBUS, one of our favorite songs (we are HUGE Incubus fans)

Anyway as soon as we both heard the song we got up on the dance floor and for the full length of the song it was just dh and I dancing and singing together.

It was so memorable and unplanned and we were both just so happy.

So many things! One that particulary stands out when the DJ busted out with TKA Maria and dedicated it to me! Everyone was dancing

one of the best things was the one thing i feared the most!!

DH has a friend who is a singer and i swore up and down that he would NOT be allowed to sing...sure enough, while we're all having fun in the reception DH approached me and asked if he could please please sing...at that point i said ahhh screw it! then he serenaded us with the MOST beautiful love song, DH and I were so moved!! it was such a great moment!

First would be DH re-proposing to me...because i always joked he didn't get down on one knee & ask...he said "So let's get married"..while on a surprise trip to Hawaii..i was laughing because that was what he was telling the crowd.

Second would be DH's talented cousin performing a song she wrote for us! She is so talented and it was so touching!!!

I would say just watching all our closest friends in one room and enjoying themselves...and DH who doesnt ever dance, danced the whole night! It was great

Some of my favorite moments happened on the dance floor, one is getting my dance on with my friend Johnny. My most favorite moments was when one of DH's nieces came over to me, gave me a hug and called me aunt for the first time.

my other favorite thing was when DH surprised me by singing "How Sweet it is" during the reception. it was so cute!!!! Some of it is on you tube. I think its under "Sergio sings to his bride." But Im not sure...

Me too I am a big Freestyle fan as well. Funny thing I never told him to play freestyle and towards the end he just started playing it then put that song on I was hysterical. I secretly loved the added attention

DH also use to blast that song when he was in HS way before he even met me. People use to ask him where his girl Maria was

One of the greatest things for me was seeing my grandmother dancing all night and seeing how happy she was.

My grandmother has been suffering with things since she was in her 30's. Doctors couldnt figure out what it was, she has been on so much medication since she was young. She has slight dementia, and other mental health problems. My cousin says she has a form of schizophrenia, not serious where you hear voices but my cousin who is a psychology major explained it all to me. She does well when she is on her meds but off her meds she has been hospitalized in the past. Also my grandfather died in november of 06 and she has been living alone overseas, she didnt want to move in with family. She came 6 months before my wedding to be here for everything. She lives her life by the church and all day just cooks and cleans and all her life was about doing things for others. At my wedding we all were shocked, but she danced all night long, she was jumping up and down and all over the dancefloor. Dh and BIL kept dancing with her, spinning her all over the dancefloor. My dad was so worried and thought maybe she was drinking bc he had never seen her like that, and kept asking us to watch her. She had more energy than i did, and couldnt believe how much she was jumping up and down. Seeing how happy she was and how much she enjoyed herself was a great gift.

She had to go back in june, her meds were running out plus her visa is only for 6 months here and 6 months there. Dh cried so much when she left, he seriously wouldn't stop. She is coming back in december, and cant wait to have her back, were trying to get her permanent residency
