Brides Entrance - Ceremony
I recently went over the ceremony music with the organist and he told me the church doesnt allow the bridal chorus (here comes the bride) I am heatedddd - waiting for a call back from the priest so I can argue this. But in the mean time anyone have any good suggestions if I dont win the arguement???

Actually yes, and my church won't allow Ave Maria - I am Lutheran.
ETA:
The 'Bridal Chorus' from the opera Lohengrin, by German composer Richard Wagner, is the standard march played for the bride's entrance at most formal weddings in the United States and at many weddings throughout the Western world. In English-speaking countries it is generally known as 'Here Comes the Bride' or 'Wedding March' (though actually 'wedding march' refers to any song accompanying the entrance or exit of the bride, most often Felix Mendelssohn's 'Wedding March'). However, it is seldom played at Jewish weddings, due to Wagner's reputation as an anti-semite and the Nazis' use of his music.[1] It is also not used by the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod because of various factors, but most especially due to the perceived pagan connotations of Wagner's plays. [2] The Roman Catholic Church generally does not allow the Bridal Chorus at Catholic weddings due to the fact that it is a secular piece of music.[3]
Wikipedia on what I posted, but several out there, just google it.

If you're getting married in church they may not allow this either. I also did Trumpet Voluntary like a PP said--it was perfect

i am hoping to walk in to 'grow old along with me' by Mary Chapin Carpenter. hopefully they will allow it since the words areGrow old along with me
The best is yet to be
When our time has come
We will be as one
God bless our love
God bless our love
Grow old along with me
Two branches of one tree
Face the setting sun
When the day is done
God bless our love
God bless our love
Spending our lives together
Man and wife together
World without end
World without end
Grow old along with me
Whatever fate decrees
We will see it through
For our love is true
God bless our love
God bless our love

Re: Brides Entrance - Ceremony
I love Canon in D for the processional (even though its very traditional) but I cant remember for the life of me..is that what they traditionally play for the bridal party walking in as well because I know there is a little pause for that moment before the bride comes so im not sure if thats a start of a new song or what. Thanks!!

Yes Canon in D is usually for the BP...the introduction is kinda long so it would be hard for the bride to walk down to that.
