Card Box or Envelope Purse???

I'am having a debate with my mom, card box or envelope purse. I feel like a purse is saying i know who gave me a gift and who didn't. what is everyones opinion?

Re: Card Box or Envelope Purse???

i'm NOT going to carry a big bag of envelopes around all day.... my luck i'll put it down somewhere and loose every thing. or leave it in the bathroom and some other brides guest will pick it up

I did however make a card box in our colors that looks like a cake i have pics in my DIY album

Re: Card Box or Envelope Purse???

I would go with a card box...I feel it would be a lot easier in terms of knowing where it is at all times, not forgetting it, etc.

Re: Card Box or Envelope Purse???

Definitely a card box, I feel like a purse is a little dated.

Re: Card Box or Envelope Purse???

I'm not bothering to get a card box, so a purse it'll be for me. I'll be giving the envelopes to someone else to hold anyway so I don't plan to be carrying it around.

I have never seen a purse? Is it a bag? I would just feel bad making someone hold it all night if they wanted to party...Then what do they do?

Re: Card Box or Envelope Purse???

I like the box better bc I always get nervous as a guest holding onto the card until I get a chance to give it to the bride and groom.

Re: Card Box or Envelope Purse???

You'll know who gave you a gift and who didn't when you open up everything after the wedding. I just think that purses are a little bit tacky. Like, the only reason I'm walking around and talking to you is to get my money. With a cardbox they can go up and put it in there while you can talk to your guests and they won't feel like you just want the present.

I agree! But I have a feeling that once we go around talking to our guests and thanking them for coming, we're going to wind up with a bunch in our hands anyway.

Re: Card Box or Envelope Purse???

I think a card box is better. Is more decorative and is a nice touch I think. A purse would be annoying and could be lost easily.

Re: Card Box or Envelope Purse???

I was going to make a photo cube card box for the wedding but FH was nervous about how safe it is. Then I was just reading the BHB's posting about the cardbox being stolen!!! I can see how it might be easy for someone to run off with it...even if it does have a lock on it. So now I'm debating doing anything or just having FH's brother in charge of taking the checks and running them to the car periodically.
