Re: Card Box or Envelope Purse???

I was going to make a photo cube card box for the wedding but FH was nervous about how safe it is. Then I was just reading the BHB's posting about the cardbox being stolen!!! I can see how it might be easy for someone to run off with it...even if it does have a lock on it. So now I'm debating doing anything or just having FH's brother in charge of taking the checks and running them to the car periodically.

I would rethink that.... valet's usually are in charge of your car keys.... that would actually be the last place id trust with the envelopes!

My FSIL did this for her wedding but it was her sister in law who took charge and the vallet gave her the keys. I think it was the safest way to go. They didn't announce why they needed the keys to them, just that they needed to get stuff from the car.

Re: Card Box or Envelope Purse???

I did a card box!

didnt want to carry around a purse of cards (i feel like it's obnoxious to go around the tables with it, like you're asking for gifts and money and expecting it); much more easily stolen because it's smaller, a purse is easily opened while a card box is more of an in-only type of thing, my card box is pretty and nobody has to babysit it.

Re: Card Box or Envelope Purse???

We are doing the cardbox because sometimes people just want to sneak out and they drop their envelope in the cardbox. its easier for everyone. Plus you dont want to carry around all those envelopes all night becaue you might lose them, JMO, because you will be dancing and drinking.

Re: Card Box or Envelope Purse???

My mom saved her purse from her wedding and it is still in really good condtion, so I think I am going to use it. I don't want to walk around with it though, so she is going to hold on to it and anything someone gives me, I will just give to her. She did that for my sisters wedding and it worked out great.
