Bridal attendant the day of your wedding?

I just read on here how someone's bridal attendant basically saved the day when her dress wasn't right the day of the wedding. I've heard other similar stories, but my place doesn't offer an attendant. Who thinks a bridal attendant is necessary? Can you hire one for the day of the wedding?

My bridal attendant (provided by the hall) definately was a great help. I am sure you can hire one for the day of, and I would recommend doing so!

that was me who had the bridal attendant who saved the day. i would have just had to settle with the bustle that i didn't want if she wasn't there. i guess it wouldn't have mattered, but i was very happy she was there. i think the one i had could be hired for other parties. you could call B'nai Sholom and ask for her number. I think her name is Vasa.

michele ... its great that your attendant saved your bustle, mine was no help in that area at all. She was good at other things, but looking at the pics, I realized how rediculous it looked & no one bothered to help or say anything.

Mine also comes with one, but one place we looked said they had one we could hire (it was expensive, $700). You might want to check with your hall, theymay have one but for a fee.

Sonicstef hired a "day of coordinator" whose name was Elaine Gottlieb. I'm sure she'd be happy to shard the contact info with you.

your maitre d might take on some of the responsibilities of a bridal asst...ask your hall

on the weddingchannel.com there are a few girls who are trying to get started in this field

I would definitely ask your hall about this. My mom is a maitre d at a catering hall in Queens. It is small and doesn't have a bridal suite but my mom has done may activities that a bridal attendant does. From comforting crying brides to fixing dresses.

My bridal attendant aslo fixed my bustle. People kept stepping on my dress and therefore the bottons holding up my bustle would some flying off (my dress was very delicate material). She sewed the buttons on with care. Although by the third time it happened I was so angry and just wanted to have fun that I rubberbanded the dress to my arm. Thanks god the bridal attendant wasn't around then - she wouldn't have fell for that.

I hired a Day-Of coordinator and am sooooo glad I did. She made all the difference between me enjoying my day and me running around trying to take care of details. It was worth every penny to have someone whose only job was to make sure things ran smoothly.

I will have a bridal attendant on my wedding day, people told me their great to have, they do everything for u so your stress free that day! I would look into hiring an attendant if your place doesn't have one. Good Luck!

I hired someone to be my day of coordinator. She has turned into a godsend. She has come over and helped with programs, the rehearsal dinner, and a million other things.

I am a control freak, it is worth it on the wedding day to have someone take over and worry about the details.

Ask your hall if they know of one for hire, or you may even be able to ask your photographer. Alot of times the attendant is used to make certain you look your best in all your pictures (fluffing your dress, fixing you hair, etc.) Depending on how professional they are, they may also folow you around with mints and a toothbrush for the after dinner pics!!!

If you cannot get an attendant for whatever reason, bring someone respnsible with you to your final fitting and make sure they ask your salon how to properly bustle your gown - the hooks are very hard to find & they really should see what it looks like bustled because there are so many different styles.
