For you smokers out there...

Im so bored so Im posting like crazy.

Anyway, I just saw that commercial with the guy with the hole in his throat. (They started playing them again) My question is, do these types of commercials affect you in any way?

I always wondered. Chris said it wouldnt bother him because theyre trying to scare people out of smoking and what happened to him doesnt happen all the time. But I think I would change the channel too if I was a smoker!

Joe is worst than i am, he cant take to see those commercials at all, he has to change it immediately.

DH and I just ignore them. DH has been smoking for yrs and does want to quick some day. However forcing nonsmoking on a smoker is not effective. If anything it makes them want to smoke more. The only way for a smoker to quick is if they want too. Thats just the cold hard facts.

I agree with that. I just wondered it it actually SCARED anyone like the commercials intend to do. I think theyre pretty harsh commercials.

Smokers know the risk they are taking. I'm more for forcing the tobacco companies to disclose their secret ingredients and be better regulated by the FDA. IMHO that is where the real problem lies.

ITA DH and I both smoke and feel the same. The commercials only annoy me.
