are there family friends or coworkers you would have liked to invite? did you invite everyone with a guest? could you include your vendors?
are there extras you would have liked, like a VH or CH add ons that you can ask your hall to throw in?

yes except for the dj and emcee and photog who are house vendors...they eat for free....actually our orig minimum was 200 but instead of paying 115 for 200...theyll just charge us $124 for 180 so it workds out to be almost the same just $680 less...so really we're still paying for almost 194 people at their regular rate...which makes a difference of approx $3900 we will be losing out on. THATS $24 PER PERSON!!!

maybe you can talk them into throwing some stuff in for you, like extra stuff at the cocktail hour, chair covers...something?

well...i spoke to my bm...and i'm not going to give up hope yet because i am awaiting an answer. he said he has to talk to his general manager. but it didn't sound too promising. I will say this...I understand it's a business...but we are dropping a CRAPLOAD of money for this wedding and possibly introducing alot of prospective clients to this venue...if they can't work with me on this...I'll be one pissed off bride. it's not like i'm getting married in some **** hole venue...it's jericho terrace...and its not cheap. they are making hand over fist above the overhead cost to run that business so...if they can't do something...ANYTHING...I'd not only be upset...but it would totally change my view of the venue.
AGAIN i'm not knocking the venue...i haven't gotten an answer yet so who knows ...maybe it will turn out that they are exceptionally accomodating. I really hope so.

Only if you are under your minunum!
I was in the same boat as you-25 people below. My RH didn't throw in anything and we weren't happy...they only split the difference with us (meaning we paid for 12 people who weren't there). They said we could take home the extra dinners of the guests who didn't show up though.
Maybe you could post again and ask JT brides who were under their minunum what JT did for them. That's what I did.

We invited 225 & will probably wind up with around 170. I can't believe how many people are saying No. Do you think the econmy is effecting the weddings?
Thank goodness we only guarented 150

i was below my minimum and not by alot either in the end but they threw in a bunch of stuff. They were the ones who even offered it, i didnt even have to bring it up so definitely talk to your maitre'd. Even the day i showed up on my wedding day, there were evenmore extras thrown in that they hadn't mention they would throw in. OUr maitre'd is the one who said he will try to get them to throw in as much as he could get them to. I am sure they will do some things for you, i guess they wnt to see just how much
