Did you live with FH/DH before the wedding??

Just wondering, if you:
a) Lived with FH/DH prior to the wedding
b) Moved in together once you got engaged
c) Lived together after the wedding.

DH and I lived together about 6 months and then we got engaged. Its funny I always wanted to wait until we got married to live with someone but this ended up working so much better for us.

We have been living together for 6 years! We got together in Nov 2001, and he basically moved in with me when I got my first apt in July 2002, He 'officially' moved in Nov 2002, so 6 years for us. We got engaged in 2007.

Nice. Maybe it has just been me but I feel that this was the best for us let me know after your wedding if you agree. We were already used to each other's living habits so we were able to move on with the marriage. Do I sometimes wish that our first living experience would have been as husband and wife- of course, but really just for the symbolism. I do not miss getting used to the nick nacks to make living together work

we lived together for more than 5 years by the time we were married.

I personally believe EVERY couple should live together BEFORE marriage. You learn a LOT by living with someone and you really need to make sure you can enjoy your time with them 24/7...

We got engaged 5/11/07 and moved in together 6/1/07. We had planned the move-in since Jan 07, but needed to wait for my lease to end and my roommate to move to Florida before DH (then FH) could move in.

Absolutely loved living together and still do!

I know what you mean ... I feel like not much will change after we are married. My sister moved in with her hubby only after they were married - actually, their first night in their apt was their wedding night, on the floor, on an air mattress! I feel like the novelty of that is looooong gone for us, and I kinda wish in a small way that we didn't do that -- but I also think that living together taught us soooo much about each other, and I really wouldn't give that up.

yep - we lived togethe for almost 2 years before he proposed.....we moved in together b/c my parents were moving to florida and there was no way i would be able to afford living on my own so if we wanted to stay together we had to get an apartment....i was 19 turning 20 and he was 23 i think....it was crazy but we did it....best decision ever....i cant imagine still living at home - i would have moved out sooner if i had known how great it is to move out

i think if we both lived at home things either would have gotten this serious anyway and i would have moved out OR if we still lived at home i dont think we would be engaged yet - at least that is what i think....living together made us both realize how great we were together....

Its funny that you say that bc I remember so many people warning me about the opposite when we first moved in together. 'Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free' That really use to piss me off bc I agree with you, relationships are different and sometimes when a couple lives together they are inclined to get married quicker.

i think people just like to be jerks or be know it alls.....i know that when we moved in together there had to be family members and friends who thought we were doomed and would never last....and if i had a friend doing the same thing i might think the same thing. (b/c we were young)....im sure people thought we would have a messy house, starve, be late on rent, piss all of our money away.....its like people think you are destined to fail b/c you are young.....it turned out to be the opposite, we have a gorgeous apartment which we keep immaculate and we have a lot of nice things, we didnt starve b/c im a good cook and we are both doing well, especially my FH....and now we are getting married hahahaha....so i think that anyone who thought bad things feels like a jerk now hahahaha

I think it's important to live with someone. We are together now & living together since march.

I lived with someone else previous when I was 28-31 & it didnt work out. Thank goodness we didn't marry first....we would have been divorced.
